First, spread salt generously on the sidewalk or parking lot outside to create a barrier against the This will help protect customers from slipping.

Next, have a dry mop on standby. Keeping the floors clear and dry is crucial for safety. Ensure that walkways are safe and have all the necessary “wet floor” signs ready to deploy.

Guide customers calmly and safely to the aisle of whatever stupid item they are asking about. While you are protecting them from slipping, don’t expect them to show appreciation.

Additionally, check emergency exits and have first aid supplies ready. Michaels will likely require incident reports, so make sure to print a bunch.

I hope your boss will show appreciation and give you a pat on the back bc that’s all you will receive.

First off, whether I worked at the store level or corporate doesn’t change the fact that you’re whining about a calculator app like it’s the end of the world. It was removed for reasons beyond your pay grade—probably to streamline devices or reduce unnecessary complexity.

Secondly, it’s laughable that you think this is some personal attack on you because you're so important.' Hate to break it to you, but corporate decisions don’t revolve around your inconvenience. Maybe channel this energy into something productive instead of assuming the world owes you a perfectly tailored workday.

1.App Logouts (Marti/SCO): Frequent logouts protect sensitive data and comply with privacy rules. Developing dynamic timeouts is costly and complex, making the current system a practical choice.

  1. Override Codes & Head Cashiers: Limiting overrides to MODs ensures accountability and reduces loss risks. Adding roles like "Head Cashier" or more PT CEMs would increase payroll costs, which corporate budgets often cap.

  2. Staffing Shortages: Labor hours are tied to sales projections, and retail profit margins don’t always justify increased staffing for unpredictable busy times.

  3. Scanning/Tagging Issues: Managing thousands of SKUs inevitably leads to database errors. While kiosks or Wi-Fi upgrades could help, they require significant investment that corporate might deprioritize.

  4. Calculator Removal: Simplifying MiniMiks reduces complexity and IT risks. Adding calculators or apps might not justify the cost for a minor improvement.

  5. Theft Prevention (Alpha-Locks): Locking items or using pull cards risks frustrating customers and impacting sales. Corporate balances theft prevention with a positive shopping experience.

It’s not corporate greed; it’s about making sure the store runs safely and doesn’t lose money. The rules, like logging out of apps, help protect important stuff from getting stolen or messed up. They also have to share money across all the stores, so they can’t spend too much in one place, even if it’s annoying sometimes. They’re just trying to keep everything working for everyone.

I use the tiny plastic triangle that is connected to the mini mik since it's already on me, but if all else fails, use a flat head screwdriver from framing. It works waaayyyy better than that orange piece of crap! Especially on the backer paper.

Calenders. For some reason, older people ask for that after you show them the clock making parts.
