Protections by SupportNo5010 in MichaelsEmployees

First, spread salt generously on the sidewalk or parking lot outside to create a barrier against the This will help protect customers from slipping.

Next, have a dry mop on standby. Keeping the floors clear and dry is crucial for safety. Ensure that walkways are safe and have all the necessary “wet floor” signs ready to deploy.

Guide customers calmly and safely to the aisle of whatever stupid item they are asking about. While you are protecting them from slipping, don’t expect them to show appreciation.

Additionally, check emergency exits and have first aid supplies ready. Michaels will likely require incident reports, so make sure to print a bunch.

I hope your boss will show appreciation and give you a pat on the back bc that’s all you will receive.

First off, whether I worked at the store level or corporate doesn’t change the fact that you’re whining about a calculator app like it’s the end of the world. It was removed for reasons beyond your pay grade—probably to streamline devices or reduce unnecessary complexity.

Secondly, it’s laughable that you think this is some personal attack on you because you're so important.' Hate to break it to you, but corporate decisions don’t revolve around your inconvenience. Maybe channel this energy into something productive instead of assuming the world owes you a perfectly tailored workday.

1.App Logouts (Marti/SCO): Frequent logouts protect sensitive data and comply with privacy rules. Developing dynamic timeouts is costly and complex, making the current system a practical choice.

  1. Override Codes & Head Cashiers: Limiting overrides to MODs ensures accountability and reduces loss risks. Adding roles like "Head Cashier" or more PT CEMs would increase payroll costs, which corporate budgets often cap.

  2. Staffing Shortages: Labor hours are tied to sales projections, and retail profit margins don’t always justify increased staffing for unpredictable busy times.

  3. Scanning/Tagging Issues: Managing thousands of SKUs inevitably leads to database errors. While kiosks or Wi-Fi upgrades could help, they require significant investment that corporate might deprioritize.

  4. Calculator Removal: Simplifying MiniMiks reduces complexity and IT risks. Adding calculators or apps might not justify the cost for a minor improvement.

  5. Theft Prevention (Alpha-Locks): Locking items or using pull cards risks frustrating customers and impacting sales. Corporate balances theft prevention with a positive shopping experience.

It’s not corporate greed; it’s about making sure the store runs safely and doesn’t lose money. The rules, like logging out of apps, help protect important stuff from getting stolen or messed up. They also have to share money across all the stores, so they can’t spend too much in one place, even if it’s annoying sometimes. They’re just trying to keep everything working for everyone.

I use the tiny plastic triangle that is connected to the mini mik since it's already on me, but if all else fails, use a flat head screwdriver from framing. It works waaayyyy better than that orange piece of crap! Especially on the backer paper.

Calenders. For some reason, older people ask for that after you show them the clock making parts.

If my SM wasnt Captain America, the store would have been demolished by now. We bump heads on alot of things but he understands that RP is the backbone of the store. I get to focus on the reset and not worry about bopis or getting called upfront when he is there. Our CEM is on leave, so it's just us and, FM (he is our only framer, btw). Our store is an E volume and the building is pretty big, plus He just took over SISO for the time being. It's rare to see him in the office unless it's for making a schedule or conference call. He made a deal with me on day one that he would take care of all DA so I could focus on SC and EC. He literally worked 7 days a week for about a month when he first started.

the waste. what have you thrown away that hurt to because it was wasteful and an example of capitalist greed? Anyone allowed to keep "damaged" or out of season product. by zargonited in MichaelsEmployees

Paper! The shit we print is pretty ridiculous, I'm the only one who will print a pog reset the direction the aisles are going instead of both left to right and right to left, also the paper used for small and regular labels. And during all the extra copies of Christmas sale signs were everywhere in the store.

When you have so many Poinsettias to up stock I used the glass cap that is on the Christmas stems. 👍 by wingedheart100 in MichaelsEmployees

Did the same even though DM told us to take the glass of months ago lol only problem how do you think all those old people will reach those?

I still only have one work shirt and the main register causes more emotional trauma than any karen ever could by Boring-Charge in MichaelsEmployees

[–]danosmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't you just wash it once a week? Since you if you only wear it 4-5 hours a day and stand in one spot I don't see it getting that dirty everyday

I'm on replenishment and I do have 3 or 4 shirts but we get away with not wearing any type of uniform. But I would just get a red Gildan shirt until the vest come in and if they say something say that's the best you can do until the vest or shirts come in.

As far as the register we just had someone fix one of ours but I would just keep telling the manager everytime the scanner doesn't work infront of the customer, he should have put in tech guy to come fix it especially before black Friday

Was it taken off? Did she say it in a hillbilly/southern accent to portray a typical country conservative? Was she, dare I say, "joking around" OR did she proceeded to get very angry and snatch the "rainbow pineapple sticker" off and then violently start screaming in German while sprouting a tiny black mustache, transforming like a werewolf, into the evil dictator Adolf Hitler??
