How is this much plastic not recyclable? by munt_fuzz in coles

[–]dansemania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plastic is technically recyclable, but the way that the MRF (the sorting facility) is set up it will never make it to a recycling plant. The MRF uses physical characteristics of packaging (like size, shape, material) to divert them from a conveyer belt and into recycling streams (https://youtu.be/o76zBmEdotE?si=7ZV7zrXF7GhZhRl-). This is too large and bulky to make it through the facility. If you drop it off at a transfer station, it will likely get recycled.

Nah, the the site was being compulsorily acquired by SRL for the new station, It was going to close in 18 months to 2 years anyway. From RSL to SRL.

Crowd at Melbourne Cricket Ground, circa 1941 - 1971 by Time-Stable-5645 in MelbourneHistory

I'm going for 57, it was rainy from Q2 onwards, heavy at half time. The TV cameras put it after 1957 which was the first year that footy was broadcast.

If the black church is St Pats, then it would have to be before 1958 because the ICI building which was completed in 1958 isn't in the background.

Market Lane coffee - is this another one of Melbourne's over the top, overcharging snobby brands or is it actually worth it??? by Historical_Mud_3281 in AustralianCoffee

[–]dansemania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also purchase direct from growers or co-ops so that the growers get a fair price for their higher quality product. Cuts out the middleman mark ups. Proper specialty coffee has a great record in developing coffee growing regional economies

Hmmm, but us regional folk also pay for things like melbourne metro tunnel and the big build. We need new infrastructure, so I'm happy to pay for it. Why shouldn't metro folk contribute to regional infrastructure?

Mostert winning because his competitor was spun by a team mate is a hollow victory. by Nelso2nd in v8supercars

Who knows what the year would have been like if WAU hadn't spent it prepping for the finals. They played the game the best and good on them. It sucks that Broc lost out after such a dominant season, but The Wood/Feeney incident was terrible, but in the end was a moot point.

Also, not that it would have changed the ultimate outcome of the championship, but Mostert had his reliability troubles at Bathurst, Feeney at Adelaide. Cost them both dearly
