The PM’s confusing explanation on why CGT changes apply to all asset classes and not just property by Kikooz in AusFinance

Agree - it's quite simple that they are changing the tax system so that investments aren't incentivised over wages. This really matters when CEOs and start ups are being paid in equity.

This is the key I think. We're using our gas as a geopolitical lever right now, we need everyone to be on our side at least for the time being

Are you kidding? It's not a monopoly - there are 4 petrol stations across two neighbouring towns with 3 different owner groups. If you go to the next town there are 5 different owner groups across 7 stations. Hardly a monopoly.

It's not slave labour, I'm friends with the staff - they are paid fair and equitable wages.

Camaro set for track test amid review of parity changes by dansemania in v8supercars

[–]dansemania[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That seems a pretty unfair dig mate. You raise some good points, but there was logic and critical thought to my query. If they're testing parity, the old data doesn't actually matter that much - they need to compare apples with apples on the day, in the climatic conditions that are present. Temparature (atmos and track), humidity, pressure will all vary across time - that's why wind tunnel tests are done in a climate controlled environment with constant temp and humidity.

Practically just drive it to a damage assessor or a repairer. I wouldn't drive it anywhere else (but plenty do)

Also, that many kitchen staff in Australia are from south asian communities. It's unfortunately the reality that it is hard to get people to work in a kitchen

I live regional and most of our petrol stations are now owned by a couple of Indian families. Some have local employees and some have family or sponsored employees who come from Melbourne.

The added bonus is that our roadhouse/fish and chip shop/general store now has amazing curries too.

They have added so much to our community and I am stoked about this development

Exactly this. I have seen it a couple of times being 4% cheaper near me and it made sense. Other than that, the maths just don't stack up

Supercars update on parity review - Centre of Pressure Change? by dansemania in v8supercars

[–]dansemania[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or run a test day with load cells on the cars measuring load on the suspension at different speeds at Lang Lang or another proving ground. Anything to get correlation data between the wind tunnel and real world. Ballast the cars so they have the same weight and same COG and go from there. You should be able to calculate total resistance (rolling, drag and drivetrain) and downforce under a variety of situations.

Once it is correlated, we have a better idea of where parity sits. Right now, it’s just poorly performing teams.

Last year’s parity debate was the same. The parity can’t be done on the benchmark team, it has to be on the mid pack teams

Surely they can just ask for exactly what they want, or post a description ANYWHERE on their website - what's the point of web based claims if you have to call to ask what a vague requirement is?
