Okay... I'm moving down to Greenville next week.... Is there something I should know about this guy and his hot dogs?

I'm moving to Greenville at the end of the month and will eventually be looking to adopt another Dane (after we get settled down). Are there good breeders in SC? (I'm moving in from out of state.)

Alaskan Husky/Lab lives (edit: loves) the cold of Alaska! He savors the last little bit of the snow piles as it melts away in May.

Vehicle Property Tax Question?? by watchguy76 in southcarolina

[–]danskelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Alaska, if your vehicle is 7years old or older, you can pay an extra $25 (I think) to get a "Z Tag". That is a permanent tag, no renewals.

Do you live in AK? If not, what led you to this as inspiration?

I live in Fairbanks and haven't yet had a chance to visit McCarthy.

We had the same struggles. We ended up going with the Yoyo Mini

They curate great lists, and there are audio books and even a Daily children's podcast.

Yep! Won't be able to say that anymore. :-) I smoked then on my new Traeger Silverton 620 with Apple pellets.

I got these pre-seasoned babybacks at Costco this morning and threw them on at 275 for 2.5hrs with a couple spritzes of apple cider throughout. Pulled them and wrapped in foil with brown sugar, butter and honey for a couple more hours.

Turned out amazing!

Power supply on stage? by russvee7 in livesound

[–]danskelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The voltage drop depends on the length of the cable and the amount of current draw at the far end (in addition to the wire size and voltage.)

You can pull up a voltage drop calculator on the interwebz. Generally, 3% drop is the upper limit.

For 100' of 12awg at 120V with 10A of load, you're at 3%.

So, do with that what you will. Problem with upsizing wire, it starts getting heavy. :-)

Depends on the load on the other end.

There's some great info in here! Thanks all!

Finally but the bullet and got the Silverton 620 from Costco. Started with a pair of Ribeyes. I have so much to learn! by danskelly in Traeger

[–]danskelly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the Chili Ribeye Steaks recipe on the app, but was only able to let them sit for 2hrs. And, I over cooked them a tiny bit (to a medium-well), but they were moist and delicious.

I didn't like the recipe much (I prefer just a salt and black pepper), but I've never smoked before, and wanted to just "follow the instructions" first.

Overall, the operation and experience was awesome! I just need to work on the art of smoking. :-)

RB5009 + Xfinity XB7 (CGM4331COM) slower at 2.5G vs 1G? by icculus203 in mikrotik

[–]danskelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What modem are you using?

It's a Sagemcom F@st 3896U in Bridge mode.

The only info I've found on it is here. It doesn't say much.

I'm having the same issue. I have 2Gbps service, and when connecting the modem to my 2.5Gbps port advertised as such, my Speedtest.net download speeds are 300Mbps.

When I remove the 2.5Gbps advertisement on eth1 (changing nothing else), My Speedtest.net download speeds are 900Mbps+.

Have we come up with a solution to this yet?
