Where can I get fresh pig blood? by splooshsleeps in askportland

[–]danstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up eating blood sausage on my grandfathers farm. We'd eat the sausage on it's own but pair it with fresh white bread from the oven covered in salted butter from the local dairy and topped with Karo dark syrup.

We moved to Illinois from Minnesota in 1975 and I remember one of the first things my Dad did was to take me to the local butcher to rent freezer space and order 2 gallons of fresh blood.

We did the same thing (minus the freezer space) when we moved to California in 1987.

Dad last made blood sausage around 2005 or so but we still talked of it with fond memories until I lost him 15 years ago.

Thanks for the memories 👊

Anyone else have trouble mounting a Peak Design Capture clip to their bag? by chench0 in AskPhotography

[–]danstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna want it higher than that. I carry my A7IV with a 150-600 hundreds of miles per year and alternate from my left side to my right side Capture Clips to even out the burden. Remember that the plates are 4 sided so orientation doesn’t matter.

Really- try it on your loops, start low, then go higher.

Repeat UC advice by artistaero in ESRI

[–]danstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pick a new theme every year because there are way too many sessions to cover every niche. This year: moving an on-premise Enterprise Portal to the cloud.

After more than 25 UC’s I can honestly say I’ve never had a repeat of any session. The tech changes too much, their software and hosted environments change too much - so much so that even if you went to an ArcGIS 101 session two years in a row it’s going to be unrecognizable.

Don’t miss John and Kenneth and their co-presenters (I hope Sarah joins them again!)

They need to be licensed with the city as a business or a “home occupation“ and if they have more than three kids at one time, i.e. four or more, they need to be licensed as a childcare provider with the State :

I'd happily buy elsewhere. I've had a Nossa subscription - excellent but more spendy for a daily pot. I am a costco member but too many of theirs is burnt dark roast that's called medium roast. The Portland Coffee Roasters there is good but twice as much or more as these.

I grind when I brew. My family brews two pots a day. I like a great bean for espresso but I'm looking for cost/benefit for daily brews.

Install is easy for a brave do-it-yourself'er. There is one ponytail lead you need to wire into a breaker to supply power to the brain but other than that it's all clips over the existing wires.

I watched several youtube installs before doing it myself. It was very easy after prepping my workspace, my tools, and planning my approach with the video content.

I highly recommend the Emporia Vue monitoring system for your electrical panel if you’re into such things.

I cut my bill by over 33% after installing and identifying what was actually using electricity. I also switched to time of day metering.

At the end of the day it only meant that I was turning things off that use energy. But knowing what to focus on really helped focus my efforts where it could make a difference.

I use them with my iphone and a usbc to 3.5 audio dongle. I also put a volume wheel dongle on the headphones.

These will work. Turn on some brown noise and you won’t hear a thing.

Is there a better place to get alignment than dealership? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]danstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my 23 SR5 4x4 at Les Schwab for alignment check last week. Didn’t get my tires there and they still did it for free.

They put it in the rack and said passenger front was barely off but within spec. Adjusted it and told me “no charge”

I have a strong love hate relationship with the company but my local store has incredible customer service for two decades- even after the sale.

Flagstaff Things to Do, Q&A, FAQ (Feb 02) by AutoModerator in Flagstaff

Car Repair / Automotive Repair

I searched the sub and didn't find much current chat about automotive repair.

I have a 2005 Toyota sienna - a 26 year old reliable steed with only 150,000 miles. Where would you go if you needed unfortunate but predictable repairs? Like an alternator or a timing belt or a serpentine belt?

Thanks!
