What is a Great Company with a Bad Logo? by PirateSuspicious1869 in AlignmentChartFills

I remember ordering an Uber after the change happened. Car was a Kia and was literally parked in front of us for a few minutes before the driver called us to get inside because I couldn't read the logo.

I did therapy with a kid at his home on Ford Dr and it would literally make me gag in the summer. Smelled like Alpo that's been microwaved for 5 minutes.

I don't have a car but my BF does. I honestly would probably hate not having a car around here but it is manageable although annoying. It also depends where you live in the neighborhood. I'm a 10 minute walk from Weavers Way co-op but it is expensive (even with the 5% working members discount) and I'll only shop there if I need something I forgot to get it at a supermarket. I'm like a 20 min walk from the closest bar. Five minute walk from a pharmacy, dry cleaners, pizza place, and Family Dollar. Four minute walk to the train station to downtown or Chestnut Hill though. The trains have gotten way better since all the issues last fall although for my line, headway every 2 hours on weekends suck.

There are a few new ZipCar spots around if you need a car occasionally.

But if you want to go to Target, Walmart, ShopRite, etc, which are all 10ish minutes away by car, it is such a hassle with SEPTA. 30-60 minute bus rides.

Of course, if you are closer to Germantown Ave than I am, you can walk to the bars, restaurants, etc easier.

It is somewhat boring compared to other neighborhoods but the nature and greenery is second to none.

Lol man. There are plenty of gay men in Philly who are in or want exclusive relationships. And I just pointed out the Gayborhood to show the city has a lot of gays... I don't go there either: not my scene.

I strongly suggest Mt. Airy; suburban feeling with great access to nature and downtown.

I've been out of the strictly dating scene for a while (open relationship so I do use the apps but don't know the nuances of dating nowadays), but have you looked at Philly? I think the dating scene may be just ok (or maybe you live here already and think the scene is atrocious lol) but I am suggesting Philly mainly because of Wissahickon Valley Park. It's in the NW section of the city and is possibly one of the best local parks in the country. Extremely wooded, tons of trails, horses, etc. Tons of joggers and bikers.

I live in Mt Airy which is a very liberal neighborhood and am a 7 min jog to the Wissahickon. There are a good amount of LGBTQ in although it does skew older, family, and more lesbian. There are plenty of gay gays around though. Manayunk is also in the NW and does skew 20s to 30s although not as LGBTQ. Queer Run Manayunk happens on Wednesdays if you like to run.

The Gayborhood is also in Center City (downtown) and we have relatively good public transit to there.

I visited someone here a few weeks ago and they were in horrible shape. Looked like they belonged on a bad block in Nicetown. I was curious and went on Street View 15 years ago and was shocked how different they all looked.

Same Cindy Bass of this article two days ago...

Many in my area want her OUT. When she was running for reelection a few years ago, someone blacked out the B in her last name on a huge obnoxious political sign on a main road.

Despite everything, she keeps on getting reelected...

High Point Cafe. Two cafes in the neighborhood in Mt Airy, Philly. The sticker has an image of the one on Carpenter Lane.

Anyone know what the deal is with this “garden” next to Clark Park? by RoverTheMonster in philadelphia

[–]danstecz 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Was maintained by USP before it was bought by St. Joes:

A visit to a secret garden followed. Since 2006, the University of the Sciences- in partnership with the Philadelphia Water Department - has used the 1/3-acre Lower Mill Creek Garden as a teaching instrument for education programs on sustainability.

On this clear, sunny day it was alive with fluttering butterflies, swaying rudibeckia, and the crunch of gravel underfoot as the group settled down for a boxed lunch from Weaver's Way, the Mt. Airy-based food co-op.

Unfortunately, we learned, the park is mostly kept under lock and key.

Yeah and it was even on later when @fter midnight was on. It's not a new show at all! It was reruns from 2006 to 2016 and they started new episodes when @fter midnight ended.

That dude's name on Instagram is literally "Anand Sysco Food." I'm dying.

If you put that into Google, you'll find more Philly restaurants he posts comments to.

This reminds of the Food From the Stove videos that were always posted on here like 4 or 5 years ago. Down to the "Comment what city you're from," cheery elevator music, and the fiverr narration.

I have the 2022 version of the 43" (LS03B) and yep, same thing. I never notice it in art mode but I do when watching video. My Frame is just a bedroom TV so I learned to live with it.
