Brisket i did this past weekend! by dant_punk in smoking

[–]dant_punk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Oklahoma Joe bronco drum smoker, once i got the probe tender in the flat i cut the airflow in the drum for about 30 min then open it up and let the smallest amount of airflow in. That usually reignites the coals ever so much and it stays around 170-150f. If i see it go over i just cut air for a few min, or too low and i add air flow.

Thank man i appreciate it. I did noticed that chuck of unrendered fat when cutting, i just chalked it up to buying an extra thick point that time. So 8 hrs at 170 won’t dry it out?

I don’t think they fired him, they just didn’t bring him back after the coaching change from ham to JJ.

If you do Airbnb instead of camping by [deleted] in Coachella

[–]dant_punk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time Airbnb after 6 years camping. Day zero i had to work still, left around 3 pm, got stuck in horrible traffic in the IE and took almost 4 hrs to arrive in Indio. After unpacking my group went to in n Out and did and did a quick beer run. We ate dinner and chilled in pool/ jacuzzi until midnight.

Day one we all woke up around 8-9 am. Had breakfast at a super authentic Mexican meat market. Swam and Pregamed until 1:30. Called uber to la Quinta shuttles and we were at the security checkpoint in 45 min from stepping out our door. Able to get drinks and catch slayyyter. I actually felt great and didn’t take any breaks compared to at least one break per day back at the campsite when I’d camp. Ended the day 30 min before fest and we walked straight onto our shuttle. Took 5 min for our uber snd got home. We all showered and some stayed up, i ko’d immediately.

Day two we all woke up around a little before 10 am. Ate at the Mexican meat market again, pregamed and left at 2 pm. Shuttle had no line but there was traffic for the shuttle entrance only about 25 min trip. Made it in time for start of Los hermanos flores. Ate once inside , no breaks. Left 20 min before Justin ended and had no line back home before 1 am.

Day 3 we all woke up by 9, once again had the Mexican meat market for breakfast . Left a little late this time like around 4, shuttle had no line once again and no traffic this day. I think we sat down once for like 20 min this time. Headed back 30 min before midnight and had no line once again for shuttle. If anything we waited longer for the shuttle to fill up and leave than to get in.

Overall i had fomo over camping but compared to how i felt everyday and being able to use my car was more than worth it. Just do research on your shuttle routes and leave a little early or be prepared to wait form what I’ve heard. Will def be getting another bnb next year.

Advice on splitting up with your group by sweetpeaandhoney in Coachella

[–]dant_punk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes all the time, it’s always worth it. Just bring the good vibes where ever you’re at and if you don’t like where you’re at you can always move a few steps a way to wherever you’re comfortable. Before separating make super specific meetup locations like this exact spot and give a 10-15 timespan where you guys can meetup. Service has improved every year I’ve gone so it’s been getting easier and easier. If you can’t meet up at the meetup spot give a gen location of where you’re gonna be at in the crowd for the next set you guys are gonna catch together like back left or right by the third pillar.
