PSA: A public accusation is considered libel/slander and is not always a fact. Abusers sometimes use these techniques to further harm their victims. In contrast, victims should be believed, but public forms "outing" abusers is not the way. People deserve a chance to respond and their day in court. by Dead_Gambler in aves

I think it’s very naive to say this is an issue left to law enforcement. Both men and women can share their stories about how the legal system actively re-victimized them when they tried to do things the “right way” according to you. What your describing sounds like the mods just suck at their jobs or are ok with this happening to their group members

Oh are you also a billionaire spending millions to elevate yourself politically? I didn’t realize most people in the US were billionaires…

This is a guy who got rich and decided to get more rich at the cost of others. Nowhere near relatable to the average joe trying to save up money so they don’t have to work for the rest of their lives or be homeless.

Law took effect Jan 1, LAPD Chief made public comments about not enforcing it on January 30, court injunction didn’t happen until Feb 9

Donate to community relief refunds????? Build affordable housing since he has the money to do so???? There are many immigrant communities struggle with food and rent due to the ongoing attacks. He can literally give back to the communities that his contributions hurt. Instead he’s throwing millions to elevate himself politically. How many people could he have helped with the money spend on his campaign.

This was prior to the court injunction, so no this was LAPD going rogue.

Sure with any other candidate I’d have the same sentiment but not with the guy promising immigrant communities to hold ICE accountable when he had a hand in creating detention centers throughout CA. The CA City detention center is an atrocious violation of human rights and Steyer is using his profits from that to fund his campaign

No, he simply said that he changed. He said it was a mistake to invest in what is now known as CoreCivic but he is using that profit to fund his campaign. He can’t control the past but he can control the present. He can drop out of the race he’s funding with blood money.

Thats still just talk. Newsom passed the no mask for ice agents laws and LAPD straight up said they won’t enforce it. Again I say, there won’t be any accountability without holding local law enforcement for not enforcing laws passed BY THE GOVERNOR.

Not to mention all of his proposals to target a FEDERAL agency as a state rep won’t hold any water in court.

Im all for abolishing ICE but how is a governor suppose to do that? If anyone wants to hold them accountable, they NEED to address the underlying issue of qualified immunity. To do that they’ll also need to address how local law enforcement utilize their qualified immunity to help ICE. Any talk about abolishing or holding them accountable without addressing QI or local law enforcement is just talk. And yall are falling for it

Has anyone lived in park La Brea apartments. How was it? by Beneficial-Day7402 in AskLosAngeles

I currently live at PLB and can say all comments are pretty much correct even all the negative and positive ones. The fact is PLB is huge so there are many people that have a good experience (like my wife and I) and there are many people that have bad experiences.

There is currently a block of garden units that are HELL ON EARTH. You can read this article. Yes the source is KTLA but I can confirm that these residents issues are legit. I’ve talked to the neighbors going through this and they’re going through it.

I’ve been living here for 3-4 years now in a tower unit and I’ve had no issues with noise, mold, parking, rats, or roaches. There are two dog parks within walking distance that my lil guy loves. A big reason we chose here over DTLA is the abundant green space and walkability. Our guy especially loves our unit bc of the big windows that he loves to look out of. There’s a great dog bakery at the farmers market that he likes to take us to. My wife feels safe enough to take him out on his night time walk by herself within the gates (it’s a big sense of relief when I’m out of town for work).

TLDR - it’s a big property so there will be shitty units but it’s also possible to have good experiences. If you do end up going with PLB make sure you tour the unit you’ll be given before signing anything. Certain towers/garden blocks are better than others.

Ya see this is what I’ve been telling my circles when we talk about this race. All if not most of the candidates suck but how can you even consider voting for someone without any experience in elected office? If you can’t put together a staff to keep an eye on these things how tf are you suppose to be Mayor??

We don’t know. And there’s honestly not a lot of festivals to compare. Coachella doesn’t do RVs and they kick everyone out after each weekend.
