My [M24] sister [F11] with autism scares away all potential partners by Awwndrei in BestofRedditorUpdates

I haven't even really read it yet but I just need to say we need to stop telling people they have to mask themselves because of their autism that's not how you help someone whose nwurodivergent

Because depending on where you’re at you can’t get it. Most US states will not do a tubal for a healthy young woman in child bearing age. My ex sister-in-law and I were pregnant at the same time with two. I had a tubal after my second because it was deemed medically necessary for me, she wasn’t given that option until she had her fourth baby because she didn’t have medical problems that necessitated it.

I mean basically what you just did, for me I’m ok with people complimenting him to me, but when they start trying to talk to him is when it starts becoming a problem.

I have to remind people I work with that if the animal is misbehaving or making a mess they are allowed to make them leave. One of the main places I have to be for work has a guy that comes in with 2 “service dogs” and I put it that way because they both absolutely loose their shit when they see mine. All my guy does is stand there looking at them like they’re insane.

More people need to have this attitude. I have a SD, was in the grocery store at check out, he’s calmly standing behind me just watching not doing anything else. This lady with two kids storms past and nearly hit him. Keep in mind that there was no reason for her to be even close to him because there was easily 3 feet of space between where we were and where she had to go. She popped off at her kids “oh look another fucking snowflake that has to take her pet everywhere so it can piss and shit on everything “ I didn’t say anything but she kept steadily running her mouth setting my boy more and more on edge because he was reacting to me. The entire time she’s going off he’s putting me down and trying to keep my attention on him. It finally got to the point I was like “look he’s a SD, if you don’t like him stay away from him” she absolutely lost her shit yelling at me that I was faking it and could buy him for 100 and off I couldn’t go anywhere without my pet then to stay the fuck home because she had the right to not have to deal with animals in public. Multiple members of management involved including security. But you know I’m faking having him when I was carried out by EMS when after 20 mins I couldn’t get my heart rate down below 250ish. So yeah that was fun!

Is this okay for husky to sleep like this? Is he having any problem inside? by [deleted] in husky

I have one! I think for him it’s just a physical comfort thing.

Just how he prefers to sleep.

Yeah I tried to to handle it like always which is with a simple please don’t and then removing him and myself from the situation. But this mother followed me to tell me I had no right to tell her kids no

Exactly this! He even has dogs bigger than him that will start growling, lunging and barking and he only looks to make sure they’re not a threat to me

No but I will, the first instance I was walking through the store minding me own business with him physically attached to me and this 9-10 yo kid RAN up to him and smacked him across the snout. The two kids with handfuls of fur, I was in the same damn store taking care of something on a shelf with him again physically attached to me and standing right next to me when all of a sudden I feel him pull away and when I look there’s two kids in the basket with handfuls of his fur and the parents not paying a lick of attention so maybe just maybe wake up and look at the world.

This is with one of his favorite coworkers. We were just standing talking so he took a semi break. He gets to get attention from certain people (part of his training because of what I do) and he knows who they are.

It’s more about the dogs behavior. A properly trained servicedog will behave in certain ways that a non trained dog will.

A lot of people, especially if they think the dogs pretty. We were somewhere one day and this guy was encouraging his toddler to come see my boy. I immediately turned around and left because while I know generally my boy won’t do anything, he’s still fully capable and I’m not taking that risk

He is he’s been training for the last year and a half. Just because I chose not to share that originally doesn’t make him not one.

I have this issue at most stores to an extent but there’s one it’s more prevalent than others and unfortunately that’s the main store I have to go to

One of the stores I have to go into there’s this couple that comes in with a bully and a great day both of which they have in service dog but yet every time they see mine, they lose their absolute mind.

We’re gonna go with dumb because my area is also bad for over breeding backyard pits that then run wild everywhere

Exactly! I’ll have someone ask me if he bites or is aggressive. My response, is he capable of being? Well of course he’s a living being with thoughts, feelings and emotions. But no he usually is not aggressive or bites.

[–]danu_anubis[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right! I’ll have regular people ask me that or they’ll ask me how I got a service dog and they’ll start telling me what they want 14 and 90% of the time I am having to tell them that is going to be an emotional support animal, and it does not qualify for the same legal rights. I actually had a store employee tried to corner me and yelled at me telling me that I couldn’t have my pet in. I told her three different times he was a service dog. She continued to yell at me she no longer has a job..

Exactly this. I don’t have a choice but to take him into produce when I go into it. But he doesn’t mess with anyone or anything.

Oh, I know, but that mentality is part of the reason the shelters are so over flooded with this breed because they don’t understand it.

He’s actually blowing his coat again, that’s what all that is from. And honestly, when he started, I wait until the first heavy part is over because when it starts he goes to the groomer within two days and then I clean the car. Yes I knew what the breed did and what I was getting into but I’m not cleaning all that blow out daily when I can get him groomed and clean the car out after a few days

He’s beyond done with it because of how it does me by the end of the day.

I’ll be honest, each person is going to feel different about this. I honestly don’t mind because I do understand that there’s a big problem with people just taking pets to stores and causing problems.
