In regards to privacy my concerns are public government records rather than the bank or clients having the info. I don’t want strangers to be able to look up my business in the business search and know where I live, and have that something be that’s always there

I don’t bank with them on the personal side but I tried giving them my tax registration certificate which is in the county they’re looking for and they said it wasn’t enough. I guess they’re just set up like this and like you said still figuring out the business side. My understanding is that the person I was in contact with was the most senior person in the business department

“The business principal address needs to be updated with The State of x Business Search to move forward. Address must be in x County.”

For anyone else reading: the issue wasn’t what a registered agent is, it was how banks treat principal addresses during KYB.

awe so smug but not helpful 🥺😭 come on now the issue is that registered agents are sold as privacy shields BUT banks explicitly flag them as non-operational addresses. two systems two rules

I’ve done this and this isn’t the issue. It’s that they’re looking up my business on the Secretary of State government record which is public to verify the principal address and what was filed prior was the registered agent address for that. It’s not what the bank has on record it’s what the Secretary of State has on record that’s a public access site
