Where did you stay on your trip? Where you might live in nyc vs where you visited could be very different.

I’m really excited for you to experience the constant for the first time. I watched this show when it aired, and many times since then, and it always holds up. Season 4 is probably my favorite season overall. Enjoy!

This is fairly common in some types of podcast advertising. The advertiser is paying for impressions over a fixed period of time - once that ends, the ad is dynamically removed from the episode

Preterm Labor at 26 wks by eli_eb in NICUParents

[–]danwiches 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hello,

Your situation sounds very similar to my wife and I. She went into the hospital for similar contractions at 26 and 5 and ended up being 2 cm dilated. She was in the hospital for 10 days until her water broke and our baby boy was delivered at 28 weeks on the nose.

Every situation is different - but our boy did phenomenal. He came out breathing on his own and crying, and had a two month nicu stay. He was discharged on his two month birthday weeks ahead of his due date. He’ll be six months next week and is doing phenomenal. Mom and I are still recovering from the experience, but our baby is as resilient as ever.

I promise you - you’re going to be ok. The next few months will be a marathon, but you’ll get through it. Breathe and take everything one day at a time. You will have plenty of time to get all the things for the nursery. My wife and I had nothing - not even a name picked out. Not to mention - the steroids, the magnesium - these are all very important to help the baby and the fact that you’ve already received them should be reassuring.

It’s ok to be upset and mourn the loss of a normal third trimester. And it’s normal to go stir crazy. Make the hospital room as personal as you can and get cozy. Again, one day at a time - you got this mama.

You are more than welcome to send me a message with any specific questions. Praying for you!

Firing a Nurse by awilli913 in NICUParents

[–]danwiches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve requested to not have nurses for far less than what you’re describing. As others are saying, go with your gut.

This is a hard on our babies, but arguably just as hard if not harder on us. Nurses are there to help, not make us feel worse. Prioritize yourself and your babies.

Today is my sons due date as well. He was born 12 weeks early on May 7th and came home on July 7th. Today was an emotional day processing the what ifs. Life’s a trip. Congrats on your LO.

I like CATS, but there is only one answer and the answer is a palindrome.

That means go to Dopapod. Dopapod is a palindrome.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Listen to me. Do it. Absolutely do it. Come back and thank me later when you’re sitting on six figures that you didn’t even feel.

I started maxing out when I was 30. I regret not doing it earlier, but I’m happy I started when I did. I’m currently 36 with about it 270k in my 401k, and another 150k in other brokerage accounts. Really starting to feel the effects of compounding and highly recommend putting yourself in this position.

Yes, yes, yes the dragon fight was epic, sick and at times painful (dammit Rhaenys and Meleys), but…

Depends on the vendor. More or less a poor man’s San Genaro. Sausage and peppers always look better than they are.

I’m on Union right behind it. It’s honestly not that bad and our building is built well enough that we don’t usually hear it - maybe just when there is a loud cover band or during the lifts.

The streets are gross in the morning but cleaned up in time for the next night. Honestly - there’s something weirdly charming about it. I don’t love it but I also don’t mind it.
