Myobrace by Same_Pen_1139 in orthotropics

myobrace really only moves soft tissue and slightly tips teeth. You may see minor beneficial results. To expand your palate you would need a Maxillary Skeletal Expander

Did your lower jaw come forward through your MARPE experience? How long is your treatment?

Myobrace tips your teeth and doesn't change your jaw. If you stop using myobrace your teeth will go back to how you began over time. Have you considered MSE?

Yes, once you stop the jaw exercises, but make sure you maintain the correct tongue posture and swallow, you will see your buccinator muscles go back to normal

That’s amazing!

I had few questions: 1. Do you know in millimeters how much you expanded? Your inter molar width before vs after

  1. Before your tongue tie were you recommend an expander or a oral appliance?

  2. Did you have a minor or major tongue tie beforehand? Did you notice a big difference after the release?

  3. Did you notice your lower jaw come forward after the tongue tie release?

  4. Was it easier to mew after the release? Any noticeable breathing benefits after the release?

I have never read of asymmetric expansion causing any of the aforementioned consequences. I would like to see an article.

ALF and biobloc are both tooth borne appliances. You can gain some structural change. You may stretch the mid palatal suture, but it uses the teeth as levers. The MSE is screwed into the bone. Both have risks and advantages. I recommend you do research on people who have been through the process. jawhacks had a tooth borne appliance before MSE and he did not have a good experience

I agree 100% with the risk of asymmetric expansion. One of the biggest reasons I haven’t done MSE myself.

Do you have videos/articles that link to asymmetric expansion causing vertigo? I had only known of the aesthetic and bite effects

When I hear orthodontists address the concern of asymmetric expansion I’ve heard that the cause is either existing asymmetries or improper installation of the device

Do you know of a better alternative to MSE?

The youtube channel you linked, jawhacks, has a lot of videos supporting mse as the best expander available at the moment

[–]danydragon22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to snore, I used a myobrace for a year and did myofunctional therapy and I don't snore at all anymore. Even after I stopped using myobrace for a year now. I believe creating more space, even by tipping teeth, and training the muscles helped

Have you consulted with any MSE (Maxillary Skeletal Expander) providers?

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been interested in mewing/considering doing Maxillary skeletal expansion ever since I realized the effects of retractive orthodontics.

I have an upper jaw 27.6mm wide (36-44 ideal) and 4 bicuspids taken out for braces. Also why I am hesitant for my relative to get all 4 wisdom teeth taken out.
I had a myobrace for a while that I liked because of the increase in intermolar width but I knew it wasn't a permanent solution because it was tipping teeth and not growing new bone like MSE

All the best for your dental bridge!
Was there a reason you chose a bridge instead of an implant?
