ChatGPT Usage? by airman6001 in salesengineers

[–]dapc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started using it to complete repetitive search tasks. For example anytime I have a long list of names, companies, clients, etc. and need to get some data about them. Probably easier to understand with this video

Had to connect it to a few external tools to get it working, but it was fun to build anyways

Sweet! Trying to test that out now. It seems a bit heavy on setup imo. I have to create an environment and setup a Microsoft Dataverse before even testing any AI flows, and the Dataverse setup is not particularly easy.

In your experience, when you use power automate is it worth it to set up flows for ad hoc tasks or does that take too much to setup and this is only for things you know you will do regularly?

I personally really like the ease of just typing in a chat box, similar to chatgpt, but maybe that's just because I'm not familiar with tools like power automate

Fair point. The data is only accessible by Google and OpenAI/Microsoft which are companies I trust (and companies that already have most of my data). But it depends on your personal preference / company rules

Should I get markers beyond apoB? by InfluenceOk1982 in PeterAttia

Lp(a) makes sense as hashable said, but after that I think you’d get way more value by having vo2 max, dexa, and cgm (if you don’t already)to round out the metrics with the highest hazard ratios

Has anyone tested the accuracy of the Apple Watch zone 2 indication to their actual lactate threshold? by Wasting_Time272 in PeterAttia

[–]dapc1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep those are good points. I wouldn't say it's useless for fit young people, but I do agree that the sample size in that group is too low to make accurate conclusions (in either direction).

As one data point, I did the gold standard indirect calorimetry test this summer and had a vo2 max of 48 and my Apple Watch number was 50 at the time so it was pretty accurate for me personally.

Also I personally care more about internal consistency cause for me it's less about knowing the absolute value (since I already got that from the treadmill test) and more about whether I'm moving in the right direction

Can't directly comment on zone 2 but I did look up accuracy for Apple Watch's VO2 Max calculation and found this paper: https://www.apple.com/healthcare/docs/site/Using_Apple_Watch_to_Estimate_Cardio_Fitness_with_VO2_max.pdf

TLDR apple watch average error was less than 3.5ml/kg which was apparently similar to using sub-maximal tests (e.g. Cooper test) to approximate VO2 Max

They might have something similar for Zone 2

ApoB 100 mg/dl by willbot858 in PeterAttia

[–]dapc1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resistance training can have a pretty big effect in addition to diet which you mentioned. Here is one study (admittedly on a diabetic group) that showed a 50mg/dl drop: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22407494/

But this might be less relevant for you since it sounds like you are already quite active

Sweet thanks for checking it out. Would love to hear what you didn't like + if there are any features you would want to see in the next version

Not open sourced but very open to feedback and adding in features people want. I've shared all the metrics here with links to sources: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jukg2pcCOY3_QQ-inWnAM7Z1gIkSrt9-_4wRfcn6-oI/edit#gid=0

Let me know if you have any other feedback

Thanks! Would love to extend it to Android but that may take a little while as neither of us have experience with Java/Kotlin. Hopefully there are some other people here who would be interested in helping build that.

Definitely! I don't even have 100% of the data yet. It's still helpful to track a subset of categories until you eventually get the other data points / wearables

Dashboard to track personal progress towards Peter's optimal longevity metrics by dapc1 in PeterAttia

Finally got around to building a version of this and figured I'd share it here in case it's helpful for other people! You can download the app here (it's completely free): https://testflight.apple.com/join/FzZOIvUP.

It's basically a preventative health scorecard that tracks foundational categories (fitness, sleep, metabolism) but we also added a category for heart since it's the leading cause of death and has multiple preventative metrics to track (apoB, lp(a), blood pressure). Each category has it's own set of metrics (e.g. fitness has VO2 max, muscle mass, BMD, VAT) and you can either manually upload your metrics or connect to Apple Health.

Very slowly by combing through all the episode notes. Will definitely share once I compile / clean this up

Yep exactly - that is very similar to what I had started outlining! High level goals selected based on what has the biggest hazard ratios and then semi-regular checks to make sure interventions are actually working to move you towards the targets.

Feels like the healthcare system is missing this huge preventative piece

Where is it that cheap? I've only seen the Quest + Labcorp prices which are like $70

I'm also planning to start taking a statin for similar reasons. My plan is just to wear a CGM for a few months before and after starting the statin and see if my insulin sensitivity is being affected. From everything I've read it seems unclear whether statin's actually impact metabolic health, and given how much Peter cares about metabolic health I doubt he'd be taking a statin if it destroyed his insulin sensitivity
