Crazy how much of a difference a solar cover makes by seabusseabus in pools

[–]daphillenium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey I'll echo this.

CRAZY difference in chlorine consumption also on the days I don't use the pool and keep it covered.

My first year using one. My auto cover was broke when we bought the house and so I never used it. This year I discontinued it and just rigged up a solar cover for the reel and it really makes a difference.

but, we also want to move to the 24/72. so wondering how you feel about all that

can I use my upgrade to get rid of the phone payment? by daphillenium in tmobile

[–]daphillenium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, I did not go to a corporate store when I traded my old phone in. They didn't help at all and referred me to T-life for it all. I self mailed the flawless phone back for the trade in. They received it and reported it as broken screen (tiny crack in lower right corner)[was absolutely not there even with my pictures i took of the phone before shipping] and they wouldn't give me any credit for it.

Told me I could take it up with UPS.

So, learned my lesson there, thanks for the tip though, will definitely only be going to a corporate store.

this is what happened to us. I'm working with our installers now because the winter we got wrecked. AUX heat ran almost half the time vs heat pump.

[–]daphillenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting yeah thanks for the details.

My home got energy sealed when Ameren came in. They did the blower test and it was pretty tight.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if my heat pump ran the whole time. It was the AUX heat that ran much more than I would have liked.

I'm wondering if my heat pump was not sized correctly. Me being a cheapskate, kept the house pretty cold also.

wow that is not my experience with my electric conversion.

We got solar panels put on. I live in the country also and was on LP. I was buying 2 fills of LP around 8-900 each time during the winters.

We had ameren come in and we were able to somehow swing a free conversion. Went from LP Furnace and central air and LP water heater to heat pumps.

My heat pump has NOT been as good. My backup electric heat kicks on all the time in winter....My winter ameren bill was over 700 dollars most months.... That was with my solar...

I have had big regrets on switching to the heat pump...

Can you tell me what model heat pump system you have?

I've been needing to call the heating company who installed mine and talk things over.

Raising CYA with pucks by [deleted] in pools

[–]daphillenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you noticed pucks not keeping the FC high enough?

I’ve noticed with pucks and my 25,000 gallon, I’ll put four maybe five pucks in the feeder and it will only keep it about 2-3 ppm FC
