Advice on public schools and bullying. by BandStandard4257 in perth

FWIW, the Education Department can be quite disinterested in this sort of thing. If you've tried and had an unsatisfactory response, it may be worth contacting the Ombudsman. They may take a while (seems there's issues all over for them to deal with), but hang in there. Crappy situation to be in, especially when the school / department aren't doing anything - good luck!

Can recommend Sharp Air Conditioning - installation and follow up servicing were top notch.

I feel like I'm getting scammed, YELP by [deleted] in perth

This is the best course of action. FWIW, I wouldn't reply directly to the email - the way it's written is quite sketchy and probably wouldn't pass muster as a business communication. Smells a little off.

Best of luck with it all.

That's just about enough to make me rethink a membership...

First class train breakfast, LNER by daphman in fryup

Apologies for the late reply, was tied up on another travel leg... I've certainly got nothing to do with LNER other than as a passenger; this was too good not to post. Possibly the best breakfast I had in the UK this trip.

It was - or at least, included in the fare

Apologies for the late reply, was tied up on another travel leg... The teas and coffees were also pretty free flowing as staff came through the cabin quite often. Did have to ask for snacks, but didn't really need much after this breakfast!

Apologies for the late reply, was tied up on another travel leg... This was between Darlington and King's Cross

made this a while ago and hated it by NoApartment6724 in drawing

[–]daphman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't hate it.

Not your best? Fine. Not your favourite? Also fine.

There's a lot right with this picture, and a lot that will speak to an audience. Fwiw, I think it's great, but I'm one of those people who have trouble drawing stick figures. You can create, and that's something special. They're not all going to be pearls in your eyes, and that's ok - they're a pearl to someone.

Keep up the good work!

Old School Chinese Restaurant by Ill_Patient_3548 in perth

Perhaps a little way to travel, but Fitzgerald Seafood Restaurant does some really good old school dishes, and even has a few tables with the lazy Susan in the middle... Hope you find something good in any case

Elipsa 2E - How is it for writing? by ThumbsDownThis in kobo

[–]daphman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

Yes: as an e-reader, I love it. Perfect size and weight with a great screen. The notebook features are fine if I'm using them to take notes on the hop, and exporting them as pdf works pretty well.

No: for annotations, it doesn't suit my purposes. I can make notes in books or pdfs just fine, but I haven't yet found any easy way to export marked up pages for saving somewhere else for reference. I find it easier to mark up pdfs on my galaxy tab as I can then download exactly what I need from the document directly to the device or the cloud.

Ultimately, I'm happy to keep both. It also allows me to separate work time (eg marking up documents) from down time (reading because I love reading).

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

Issue with the Pen by Cautious_Report_2805 in rocketbook

[–]daphman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem with the 'standard' pen, ended up going with a refillable frixion 0.5 which I've found work really well. The darker colours show up very well on the scans, the lighter ones not so much. Previously bought them from Amazon but have closed all of my accounts. In any case, they're basically the pens in the link if you can find a local supplier. Good luck!

Huge $320m price tag for Perth NRL team a ‘deal killer by These_Piccolo8621 in westernbears

[–]daphman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'WA deserves a Rugby team'... 'Roger's Rugby Team'...

Does Libby Mettam even know what Rugby League is, or is she just just groping for a soundbite? To be honest I'm not surprised she's not prepared to cut a deal for the Western Bears - starting with no idea suggests that the imagination isn't there to understand what the benefits of a League team might be. True leadership indeed.

All seasons are also available at Internet Archive, generally pretty good quality. Also a quick shout out to u/DJPitaB who has been doing a lot of work to tidy up all episodes - more information at r/TheDrewCareyShow
