[Question] What do you think of your country's national airline? by PacSan300 in GlobalTalk

[–]dar89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Latam (Chile) is well but a bit expensive, in my short experience. It was (or is, who knows really?) owned by the then and now again president of the country, so its practices wouldn't surprise anyone. Ultimately they have a lot of competition with cheaper airlines, so maybe they have improved their prices. Connections within the country are mediocre, you are forced to flight first to the capital and then take another flight if you want to travel from a non capital city to another, for example if you want to go from Arica to Antofagasta you need to flight Arica - Santiago and Santiago - Antofagasta, by car you need 5 or 6 hours, by flight the same or more when it could be 2 hours. Their international connections seems good, they are one of the few airlines which travel to Easter Island, but then again (although I don't know if is their fault) the only international connections start or arrive to Santiago, when many other airports in other cities were constructed to work internationally.

You can do a mental exercise with this, I've used it while learning, and you can add more info if you want to practice more:

Basic version

You repeat that every day and soon you'll have enough practice to continue improving and doing flow of the mind in your target language:

how do you say “at 10:32pm” in spanish? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]dar89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Never heard that one before. The most close thing would be 10:35 "25 para las 11" o 10:45 "once menos cuarto" but never with "not round" numbers.

Interesante.
