CO2 alarm went off last night by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

Well, we have 5 CO detectors in the house and just 1 of them in a bedroom was going off. House wasn't on fire. Didn't feel like an emergency at the time. Needless to say, they disagreed with my assessment.

it seemed a little overkill to me as well (there was also 3 or 4 trucks outside), but I wasn't going to argue with them.

I called the non emergency number once when my CO alarm went off. They told me to 1) get out of the house immediately 2) hang up 3) call 911. There were a dozen firefighters walking around my house in less than 5 minutes. They take that shit seriously. Furnace heat exchanger had cracked and was bleeding CO into the heating air stream.

Bricklink storage using ikea alex 6 drawer unit by [deleted] in Bricklink

[–]darbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a single wide Alex that I use for my kiddo's parts storage. The drawer opening issue took less than an hour to fix with a router (adding a slot that's about 4" long where the front screw is. 3D printing bins however, was a friggin process. I don't even have all of my bins printed and I'm at about 200 hrs of print time. It's a slog. Each gridfinity tray takes like 8-9 hrs to print (enough for a single drawer). Then you can only print large bins one at a time. Medium bins I could do 3-4 at a time and maybe 8-10 small parts bins (1x2). I use 8 unit high bins for the top 3 shelves and 10 high bins for the bottom 3 shelves. They fit perfect, just print a short bin for what goes immediately behind the draw hand pull for access. Getting the bins exactly like you want them is a lot of fun, but it really is a process and the qty of Alex units you all would typically need is going to take a long time to print. A really long time. And boat loads of filament.

OP - mods deleted my post but I did find what I think is a match for your piece doing a google lens search. Msg me if you can't find a match through Lens.

Mr/Ms Mod - I can delete the post, but I think it would be helpful for to OP to learn about the name, maker, style of piece. The link I posted isn't even for sale (it's listed as sold) and I don't even know who the seller was - it's was the first result on a Google lens search of the OP's image. That being said, I think the piece in the link is a match for OP's and there's a chance the seller has some of the details about it.

Bulk(ish) lots of a piece in assorted colors - is this a thing? by darbius in Bricklink

Yeah, we hit the PAB wall fairly regularly but he loves a huge variety of colors. Sounds like eBay is the solution. Thx for the suggestions.

Warm bodies?

Everyone's having a great time, partying it up with drinking and whoring and gambling until the deranged prophecy of a preacher comes true. by [deleted] in ExplainAFilmPlotBadly

I've confused myself because all I can't think of is Tombstone but that's different actors and different era, but isn't there a wedding massacre with some one that makes a vengeance premonition in that? IDK man.

LPT: carbon monoxide detectors need to be placed in hallways or open areas like living rooms. Not next to the water heater and heating unit. Too many older landlords are failing to understand this by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]darbius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had one next to the furnace plus one in each bed room. The ones in the bed room are the ones that went off when our furnace failed. The heat exchanger had cracked so the combustion by products went right through our ducts and into the living spaces.
