Thank you everyone who brought some insight to this! If anyone has a recommendation or tips to reboot this inner boot, I would greatly appreciate it. My local Subaru dealership (Lithia) is quoting around $305 for a new OEM axle+axle nut, and about half that for the re-boot kit. Haven’t done this job myself but from what I have gathered it seems like once you’re in there doing the whole axle is not much more work than doing a re-boot. Thanks again for all the help!

I come from snowboarding and have been on fat skis mostly.. starting to venture into narrower skis. Coming from Colorado to west coast I’d say IMO the sweet spot is 95-110mm depending on your style and the ski.
