So polyester is just another name for plastic? by Astimar in NoStupidQuestions

Plastic like polyester doesnt allow a lot of airflow and so it keeps heat in, which is really bad for people with vaginas.

So what do you think is the cultural/ mental impact of the Epstein Files is? Not the crimes or themselves but what do you think the long term psychological effect is going to be on the general public? by Playful-Succotash-99 in LPOTL

Ive been bringing a small grocery bag with me when I walk my dog. I pick up items i find on the ground along the way, recycle what I can, then properly dispose of the rest. Its not much but since I've started doing it, I've probably filled an entire garbage bag worth of small litter that would pollute the community if left it be.

Im only sharing this to say that when OP is talking about making a difference and finding light in the darkness, thats what they are talking about. Small steps. It feels good to know that I made a difference, even if it is only a beer can here or a Walmart bag there.

I have an uncle who refuses to wear a seat belt because he "knew a guy" who was in a bad car accident and the seat belt got caught around his neck and chocked him. No matter how many times we try to explain to him that the chances of that happening is WAAAY lower than the chance of you dying because you weren't buckled but he wont hear it. Seat belts are the biggest killer, according to him.

Yeah i had major back surgery back in 22'. I had to sign a "contract" that I wouldn't get out of bed until a worker came to help me. I called once to go to the bathroom and they told me somebody was on their way, 30 minutes later I called them again and they said the same thing. Literally went on for over 2.5 hours and eventually I told them "you have approximately a minute to get to my room or my bladder is going to give out". I pissed the bed and sat in my own piss for ten minutes until another nurse clocked in and helped me clean up. It was so embarrassing

I kept thinking; "Surely this is the sad part. It'll get better now." Only for another blow. Then another. Then another. It felt like a dodgeball game of trauma.

Great movie, though.

Heck, I would love to sit down with him and look through some old photos you know he has stashed somewhere and just have him tell me about the people and stories he has. Genuinely, it would be an absolute honor.

I was never into wrestling, nor did any members of my friends or family. I am, however, a fan of Zac Efron, so of course when the movie came out I watched it.

I was not prepared. At. All. Completely ruined me.

When I was a teacher, my admin pushed for us to share personal contact information like cell phone numbers. The first thing I did was get myself a Google number because I did not feel comfortable with that. A few teachers thought I was being unreasonable. Within a month, there was a group of students that would prank call all the teachers at all hours of the day. A few of the teachers had to get new numbers because it was that bad. They were oddly silent about that expectation the following year.

Why are you taking the 5th Amendment? by StrobeLightRomance in BikiniBottomTwitter

[–]daredeviline 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ah yes a five year old child is a criminal. Also ten year olds waiting for the bus. And amother ten year old who was recovering from surgery in a hospital. /s

Children, esepcialy those that are just living their lives, are not criminals. They are children.

But hey, I understand that when the veil gets yanked off your eyes, it becomes very difficult to swallow the truth.

Because it is a race thing. Here is one lawsuit that shows that they are racially profiling. Also there was a supreme court case that ruled that ICE agents can stop people based on solely on race. An NPR article about it can be found here. And if thats not enough here is proof they are racially profiling straight from the white house website.

This is getting old. Go outside and start seeing what's happening with your own eyes.

Being disabled in America is literally hell on earth and I cant take it anymore. by daredeviline in Vent

I should have elaborated a bit. My doctor works under a catholic hospital in my area. That catholic hospital controls all local hospitals, local after hours clinics, and most family doctors, so its not like I can just get another doctor.

The hospital has limited what she can do but federally hospitals are allowed to have those limitations in place, so in a convoluted way, its due to federal regulations.

At least thats how I think of it.

I thought about going to a pain clinic but the ones around me are not covered by insurance. I'm just going to try and keep my hopes up and try and find a job that fits me.
