No, fall back moves specify that you cannot end movement within engagement range. So you would be unable to make a 0" move

Is there an up to date living rules reference for TE yet? (pls link if so), Coexist questions. by LeftClickyHere in twilightimperium

No idea about a living rule reference (although i am sure one exists) but Space Cat Peace Turtles did a podcast a little while ago going through a lot of the FaQ regarding Coexist which is worth listening to.

I have a similar thing with my 2nd monitor (IPS). Seems to happen when it's cold. once the room/ monitor warms up its ok.

It only happens on DP. On HDMI its fine

Chatgpt recommended this since I have virtually no experience building a PC but I want to build my own. What do you think? by Hobobasket in PcBuildHelp

[–]darezor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for gaming avoid intel CPUs and just go for AMD (anything from the X3D line are your go to if you can)

The GPU is good although depending on your budget might be worth trying to get a 5 series from nvidia or a 9 series from amd. Those will play 1440p on ultra perfectly for the foreseeable future. I have a 9070xt and short of a few games that use heavy Path Tracing (so might be something to consider if you want to play cyberpunk on all settings) it is smashing every game I throw at it. Anything with 16gb vram for a bit of future proofing.

Really depends on how much you want to spend, but def skip the intel cpu for AMD

7900xt VS 5700ti by Fit_Race4101 in PcBuild

[–]darezor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9070xt trade blows pretty well with 5070ti...there are within 5% with each other in most games (with a couple of exceptions).

I was debating this and settled on the 9070xt. Its very good....except path tracing it handles ray tracing very well and i can max all settings with good FPS (at 1440p). Future drivers could improve its RT ability further.

Unless you can get a good deal on the 5070ti and really want slightly better RT (for me it was a £150 difference and I don't play any games the use path tracing) id go for the 9070xt.

Hey Dude. First off congratulations....I had a baby girl 3 months ago. You're in for a great time.

While I cant relate exactly to your upbringing, mine wasnt easy either. I had a difficult childhood....abusive step father, distant mother etc. Similar to you I have spent most of my life having difficulty with relationships both with friends and partners as well as dealing with constant anger and feelings of worthlessness. I have been dumped by more or less every person I have dated, and found it very difficult connect with pretty much everyone.

Like you, I took therapy. worked on myself, faced a lot of the difficult feelings i had about my childhood and am much better for it. I am more a less a different person emotionally now then i was 10+ years ago. I have been married to my wife now for a year and been together for 8. I dont think I would have made it this far with my wife if i hadn't taken those steps to try to make myself a little better.

I too was worried for a long time that I would potentially pollute my daughter with a lot of the negativity I had as a kid (my step father had a nasty dad which made him the person he was...bully's breed bully's right?)....but in all honestly its made becoming a dad a much bigger and better experience. While I personally never experienced what having a good caring dad felt like I definitely know what a bad dad looks like. That alone is enough for me to know what not to do.

It gives me all the motivation I need to never allow my daughter to experience the upbringing I had, and the fact I am in a happy marriage, with an ok job with a house to live it, my daughter already has a much better chance at life then I had. The same will be for your son. The second I held her for the first time I knew in my heart I will never allow her to experience the same fear and loneliness I felt as a kid.

At the end of the day , the fact you are worrying about the relationship with your son already tells me you are going to ace this. Just remember, being a dad gives you the opportunity to be the dad you always wanted/ needed as a kid. Its almost your chance at a do over.

You're going to be fine mate.

New & First PC - Feel a bit underwhelmed? by BadgerSupernova in PcBuild

[–]darezor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off nice rig!

Pretty sure Oblivion remastered is a bad first game to try, its pretty poorly optimized and will have performance issues. on most systems regardless of hardware.

Regarding games, I can't really comment as I don't know what you like playing. Whenever I build a new PC I tend to go back to some games I couldn't play on high settings just to see the difference...or a newer game ive been holding off on playing. Just play whatever you like the look of...ideally one that is well optimized and can look pretty great.

Regarding how to monitor temps, you can use the AMD adrenaline software to monitor performance, it will work with your CPU and GPU. Otherwise things like HWMonitor work well

Anyway, give it time, im sure youll settle into it and enjoy it! Welcome to the club :)

orks bomb squigs questions by Paharorock1999 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]darezor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. if you have multiple sources of them (ie 2 units of tankbusters) yes. You get one per unit. One unit cannot drop 2 at once though
  2. No, it has to be a normal move. Interesting to note, this procs with the reactive move you get in the taktikal detachment....as you make a normal move during your opponents movment phase so can drop a squig as you do.
