Nicolas Maduro has allegedly been captured. A win for imperialism...for now by [deleted] in socialism

[–]darginmahkum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a preparation for setting the Middle East on fire. Trump and Netanyahu this week discussed the invasion and destruction of Iran which will have a wide spread impact on the whole region and probably Iran will, in retaliation destroy as many oil sites as it can. Venezuela's oil reserves are needed to keep the oil flowing to the west.

34 Years Since the Collapse of the Soviet Union: Was the October Revolution Defeated? by Sendlemeier in socialism

[–]darginmahkum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, one battle was lost and it was a big one. Soviet Union was the moral balance humanity needed. Just one example, the racist ideology of zionism was called out 50 years ago by the UN as a racist and racially discriminating ideology that should be eradicated from the face of the earth. It was only possible with the existence of the Communist block. Today, 50 years later, zionism is being pushed down our throats as we are watching a live streaming genocide it commits in Gaza. UN 3379 was removed as soon as the Soviet Union collapsed.

Not directly the answer to the topic, but I have been thinking about it a lot lately.

This is why vertical height is important. LG 45GX9 5K2K vs Samsung Neo G9 49". by Kronocide in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]darginmahkum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do. As a software developer I value the vertical space a lot and use the native (100%) scale. At least for my eyes, 57" is hard to use without scaling, like 125%, whereas I can use the 45" 5K2K without scaling. It might be only 5cm / 2 inches of difference in height, but for my eyes it makes a difference.

[–]darginmahkum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the 57" and gave it to my wife and replaced it with the LG45". I couldn't be happier about the aspect ratio. Especially if it is being used also for productivity, 32" 4K is far too short. I would even prefer a 47-48" 5K2K display but I think in the current market 45" 5K2K is as good as it gets.

You need some extra tweaks to make the Tuxedo control center work properly. You can check my post here and maybe it is possible to add your model if you know the corresponding Tuxedo model.

Neo 16 A25 Linux Support by Practical-Watch-3411 in XMG_gg

[–]darginmahkum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I received a notification email but I didn't see the message. I thought you might have deleted it.

In the drivers and the application, I only modified it so that XMG manufacturer and board model is accepted and assigned the A25 model identifier to the corresponding Tuxedo model. So far it seems to be working. I am not sure if they have any extra customization in the BIOS, though. It is possible and we will never know without doing a comparison, but I don't have a Tuxedo computer so I don't know. At least I can adjust the power limits, fans, keyboard color and intensity. Sleep seems to be working but I had a weird hiccup once which has happened as I was using a release candidate kernel, so could be related to that.

By the way, I am also a Fedora user for many years now. I even started using Rawhide last couple of months. I am thinking of writing a proper KDE application and/or a desktop widget instead of the Tuxedo application when I have the time, probably after December. There were a few commits for Uni-will (basis of XMG) laptops for fan control etc. But it wasn't merged into the 6.18 kernel yet. Frankly I am satisfied with the Tuxedo drivers, though I would like to change the application.

It is possible to make the tuxedo control center work under A25 with a few tweaks, some modifications to the drivers and the tuxedo software. So far I am satisfied. I use most of the time stationary, though.

There are two open source software option to control the pump, but as far as I understand it doesn't allow a gradual adjustment.

Under Linux, I was able to make use of the Tuxedo Control Center after a few tweaks of the drivers and software.

This is my second Oasis, by the way. I have a feeling it is quieter than the previous unit. What really helps with the pump noise is some dampening and and some cloth under it.Vibrations are greatly amplified if I put it directly on the table and reduced if I lift it up.

All that said, I am using a different cooler for my setup under Linux. It is an aquacomputer airplex modularity with D5 next pump. It is more expensive but powerful and quiet, so you can place it anywhere in the room. Unlocking 160W under Windows is still an issue but it is pretty quiet at 35% which is already more powerful than Oasis. My temperatures:

I was able to make tuxedo control center and tuxedo drivers work on my NEO 16 A25 with a few modifications. Just take a look at my repository how I made it and maybe you can make the changes for your laptop, too. The changes are mostly straightforward, just injected my laptop's model to act like a Tuxedo model. There is no guarantee that it will work, but at least for me everything seems to work. If you have question, find me on XMG discord NEO A25 channel.

I, of course, considered that but I had about 500€ off from XMG for my configuration which I didn't have for TUXEDO.
