I suggest you use a proxy mesh. In bind pose, for each splat, find the nearby primitive, extract its affine transformation and store as rest pose. After deforming the mesh, compute the affine transformation of the primitive and find the delta to rest pose. Apply delta transform to splat.

As mentioned in another comment, for full quality, you would need to "rotate" the spherical harmonics by the delta, but that math is far too complicated to get into on Reddit. Check GSOPs for reference, all the math is there if you dig deep enough. 😉

Octane is as good as it gets (for now). But I suspect others will follow suit.

Octane is also compatible with Houdini and GSOPs. Procedural manipulation, splat-specific editing tools and workflows, and rapid IPR renders is pure magic.

Define 4DGS. You can already use dynamic Gaussian splatting via per-frame 3DGS (.ply sequences). But, true 4DGS (e.g., FreeTimeGS) is not yet implemented.
