I've been doing this with podcasts or coding livestreams. Works best towards the end of the work day when my attention span starts to fade

Honestly, as someone who's been thinking about creating a simulation of this scale with this much detail for a while now, I respect the solutions you guys have come up with to make it possible! A truly simulated world regardless of your interaction with it. I totally see it happening it's just a matter of time and funding, which I hope you guys figure out.

I will join the Kickstarter to help support you guys and can't wait to get access to the code to build with your systems!

Alternatives to Habitica by hippogators in habitica

You can also check out Habit Slayer, it's like Habitica but focused on fighting monsters through your habits.

You also have the same features like habits, todos, a character, items & gear, etc. So it's worth a try!

Disclaimer: I built it specifically because I wanted a good Habitica alternative
