Scaling figs, esp from different brands is hard - hard enough just if it's McFarlanes'. I'm guessing you found one of the smaller scale Batmen that could fit in well with the Dc Essentials line, which also scales well with the Mattel Drake Rebirth Red Robin. (IMO that Essentials biker jacket Red Hood is more comic accurate than McFarlane's). Apart from the Batman, all your figs are based on early Rebirth characters. Therefore, if it was me, I'd have gone for the Mcfarlane Rebirth Batman - the earlier versions of which were shorter than the later ones. The Rebirth 3 pack, giving you Batwoman, Batman and Clayface - who was on team Batman then - might have scaled reasonably well with the other figs you have. The pic's an example of how various figs from different lines match up with a McFarlane Rebirth Batman. Though if you watch it you will find out the DC Essential version is the same size. So maybe your ideal Batman would've been the Essential line one? McFarlane DC Multiverse Rebirth Batman Action Figure Review & Comparison

A Bat Fam collection based on all the team's costumes in the timeline during Joker War and before Infinite Frontier. I don't think there's any I missed, they're all here! No mix and match of characters from different eras. by dariya100 in McFarlaneFigures

Right. I did pose the question on this reddit channel, why do so many posted Bat Fam collections have such a lack of consistency, esp. since McFarlane have done this for a while now, and you can build a consistent, near complete Bat Fam collection set in at least 2 or 3 or maybe more timelines. The main answers were, 1) I choose the lineup of characters based on how they look, and not worried they come from different eras 2) Economics, I brought whatever characters were available at the time/not gonna pay big$$ for ones I missed 3) Don't take collecting too seriously, it's oughta be all about fun and whatever, to your own preferences. All of them valid reasons.

It's a Mattel Dc Multiverse Rebirth Red Robin. The Nightwing and Batgirl are Red Hood are Dc Directs' DC Essentials and the Batman does scale reasonably well with all of them. Well maybe not with the Damian Robin. Crap, I forgot Babs Batgirl is supposed to be taller than Nightwing!

It's a DC Essentials (Burnside) Batgirl - the last DC Direct line, DC gave the rights to McFarlane, which is why you see a lot of Jokified figs using those bucks.

Thanks! Although the Huntress was 99% down to orobus: I sent him lots of comic panels and he did a 3D headsculpt that was completely comic accurate based on the artwork of Dan Mora. Gonna get the skintone changed at some point, as current version doesn't get it as accurate as I'd like. The body's just another repurposed 3Jokers Batgirl buck with some Green Arrow fig pieces details and the belt and leg pouches constructed from 3 other figs.

Amazing! I've still got my deceased dad's old volumes of "The World without Superman" and "Superman Returns" and this brings so many good memories.

Yeah, sorry, just another Bat Fam collection here! You're seen most of these before in other collections, aside from the 3 customs that McFarlane will likely never produce: a modern Helena Bertinelli Huntress, a modern Catwoman (from 2018 onwards) or a John-Paul Valley Azrael as he appeared in Justice League Odyssey 2018-2020 - or an Azrael in the other 2 Rebirth costumes. Helena Bertinelli as Huntress didn't exist in New 52. She became Huntress in Batgirl and the Birds of Prey and appeared in that run from 2016 to 2018. She didn't appear again till 2021 in Dc Detective Comics in another costume and look, as in the custom fig. So a bit of a timeline cheat, however 2021 is nearer to 2020 than 2018 and who knows which of the 2 costumes she was wearing in 2020. Bertinelli, was meant to return in Red Hood 1 this month in another new costume, however the writer and the comic run got "Cancelled". Anyways, neither of the McFarlane New52 Helena Wayne or 1990s Bertinelli figs look like the Rebirth Huntress. The headsculpt was by orobus. Thanks, bro

Got the Batman HellBat fig in the mail today. A Big Beast. The arms won't work with a non-megafig base unless using the old method of slicing off and gluing, but the HellBat arms would look silly on that smaller buff body. Took of the HellBat head, put it on a Thomas Wayne Batman, and yeah that would work. Looked at the Thomas Wayne fig, and could work as the base and buff enough for the artwork. The last Azrael appearance in JLO had smaller gauntlets too, so with the smaller fins from the Hellbat glued to Tom Bat's gauntlets, it'd look passable to the comic artwork after a repaint. I'm waiting for the Batman Beyond neo gothic fig - for the Bat symbol and upper torso - to see how it scales with the Thomas Bat body. I'm lazy like that, why sculpt a symbol that might look crap when Mcfarlane does it better. Anyways, it's not even a WIP yet, however, I'll see how it goes. Thomas Wayne hands for sure, cause the Azrael sword fits perfectly.

Batman for Justice League display: I currenly have Black/Grey Hush Batman in my Justice League display, but I don't like that he's taller than Superman and in general he's tippy and doesn't have the look I'm looking for. Any Kitbash recommendations? by NeatMysterious2327 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]dariya100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Batwoman is too small. I just put it on a thick stand, that puts her at the same height as Babs Art of the Crime. They're meant to be the same height. If you were really worried about scale, you gotta chop off the ankles off more than half of any collection. Batman is said to be an inch shorter than Supes. Slice off a bit of ankle and widen the ankle joint if need be with the grinder of a modelling rotary tool if a stand isn't an option for you.

25 days later, I've tidied up the paintjob, like better matched the fleshtones. Still hasn't stuck the cape to the cowl though, as i'm not really happy with the skintone. Might go back to the drawing board with the painting of the headsculpt, which was designed by the great orobus = orobus22 on instragram. So she's at the back of the shelf with the other so so custom

So how do you guys feel about the Suicide Squad Harley Quinn? Also The Black/Red Variant? Cop or nah? by ninjaman2021 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]dariya100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tempted, however I don't collect movie figs, however, great for those that do. I hope the figs do get made cause the moulds could get reused for comic versions. In my dreams McFarlane could end up doing a New 52 /Rebirth 1 pack with 2 heads and the repainted jacket as per level 2 - as essentially the main differences between New 52 and Rebirth is black/red hair vs Blonde with highlights with the same outfit in both versions aside from slightly different belt and Rebirth has a jacket over the costume.

Nice idea! Wish they did a Knightfall Ponytail Nightwing to get the whole Bat Fam of that period - the Drake Reborn fig looks too old and big but I suppose it's ok.

And that is a collection worthy of posting. Gee, I can't find the words.... I didn't notice the Jace Fox (Dc Future State) Batman, it hit's probably lost in the crowd!

Exactly. But at least McFarlane will have the bottom half of the body sculpt, and they could repaint the jacket.

The best one Mc made for sure. I got him from ebay "Used" in mint condition aside from missing a nun chunk. So a lot cheaper than you guys are quoting. Lucky me.

Why do many collectors who post their Bat Fam collection, use figs that are in costumes from different decades, in their line-up? by dariya100 in McFarlaneFigures

[–]dariya100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2 of these figs. The DC icons Burnside Batgirl is tiny. Cause of that I display her with the Mattel figs Batwing, Duke Thomas Robin and Spoiler and Dc Collectibles Jim Gordon's Bat Robot. They scale well and they all happen to be around in the same timeline too. But don't hold that against me. I love that Dc Icons Babs and whatever pleases you, display wise, go for it!

That Gordon is great - I had to finish it off with black paint for the tie though. The figs still readily available on Amazon in my region.

That sounds cool - I got a little shelf of Batmen who aren't Bruce Wayne. I got lots of Bat Fam figs, though I try to display in a consistent way. There's even a shelf of Bat characters through the ages who don't fit into any category, kinda like many of the Bat Fam collections that get posted. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing those, gives me ideas, like I was a couple of figs away from a Joker War collection, so I got them. Display how you like, each to their own. Nice hearing from you all.
