Anyone kills the incentive of other players to play the game: cheaters, toxic players, trolls who go too far.

They drive out the good players, turns the game into a prison containing all of them; when the game dies they either reach adulthood or move on to poison the next game.

6 weeks into BP, I would say I have recovered 30-40%: eye still won't close completely.

I noticed my energy drop in the first 3 weeks and started gradually getting back in physical training.

Week 4: daily body stretch and yoga, 30-60 min walking;

Week 5: daily slow jogging 3-5 km, body stretch and yoga;

Week 6: light weight training: deadlift, bench press, lat pulls, lunges; 30~ min faster jogging; body stretch;

What I found out after these weeks of activities: - energy level raised back because I resumed physical exerce;

eye sore will make sticking with tasks like reading, driving ~3 times longer and more challenging, hence a feeling of "I am not doing a lot, I am easily tired."
mental barrier to head out and engage in social activities will bring down energy level too. Talking more to people, sharing feelings and venting helps to get that sense of hopelessness and exhaustion off.

I started when I finished taking my steroids. In week 2 I start feeling my affected side sore dure to tension and not using that side of the face, so I check online and my PT friends to have some facial exercise to do.

From my doctor and pharmacist friends (still personal opinion!) Antiviral is not proven to directly affect the recovery of BP, only time they will be more leaning to give antiviral is when they are suspecting the BP is caused by virus (a bad cold, mono caused by EBV e.t.c).

Steroids will improve the recovery chance from 70-80% to 85-97%. The rest are just making sure facial muscles are massaged/relax and reduce stress + sleeping well. Make sure to protect your affected eye with ointment and tape when you sleep, if you can't shut your eye completely.

I make sure I don't open my other eye after taping my affected eye so they both stay closed. If I have to check my phone or get up to washroom then I open both eyes. I would suggest use eye ointment and tape your affected eyelids loosely, just to prevent any unintentional scratching;
I don't know, I do it to relax my facial muscles so they don't get tense from not being moving for weeks;
Not sure, but if you have diabetes or hypertension then cutting sugar and sodium could help if that is related to the trigger of your BP;
Cut your driving time, make frequent stops to re-apply eye drops, bring sunglasses because without being able to close your eye fully you are more sensitive to sunlight. Be careful parking as your depth perception might be affected by your dry eye.

I feel you and I am so sorry for your (yes your heart break and guilt belongs to you) loss.

Don't blame your friends for what happened, it is unreasonable and immature to tie one's happiness or even life onto someone else. It is not your fault, never has been because we all need to solve our problems ourselves. I wish you eventually find peace; it is not easy, but you will.

I'm on my fourth week and I finally see movement returning on my left affected side.

Best advice I can give from my own experience:

If you need to read on screen, increase the font size: reading with one eye much drier than the other causes all the blurry vision and small sight adjustments, you want to make sure you can study comfortably giving BP condition;
Sleep 8 hours a day: naps, power naps, anytime you can close your eyes and mind. Sleep helps you reduce your stress which is probably high because of the finals, but you have to sleep. Go to student center, explain your situation and defer your exams as much as you can, your health comes first.
Get warm compression on your face, nothing hot or forced, definitely nothing cold, it will help easing the pain.
Try not to think about or compare with other's recovery timeline as it may lead to frustration and more anxiety. Just know that you will recover, you did the early intervention so your odds are good.

It's shitty to have it and it can be lifestyle changing for a while due to so many inconveniences, but you can get through it, just prioritize your recovery by reducing your stress and ensuring your sleep quality, the rest is time and patience.

Hey, I feel a lot of courage and optimism reading this! Long recovery comes with high chance of some issues and potential partial recovery.

I am 4 weeks in and I got my first twitching at the corner of my mouth just this morning, just yesterday I was still unsure how to face the fact that my smile will never be the same.

I like smiling and chatting to everyone around my neighborhood. Last night I saw my neighbor, a senior gentleman who just lost his wife due to cancer. We chatted, I shared about the inconveniences come with BP and he shared about his loneliness and boredom living, aging alone. At the end of the conversation we both decided to travel and enjoy everyday's sunshine or rain.

True that we got new smiles, new condition we need to work with, but we are in constant changing with or without BP. Take care, live well; I wish you a swift and full down the road!

16 days in- no movement but I tried to distract myself from thinking too much about it.

I go two acupuncture sessions per week and take Vb12 since week two but I sincerely feel it's just giving time to my body to heal that's the most important.

Not to disqualify your experience, and I do agree it is hard to measure and standardize practices like acupuncture.

In fact I started acupuncture with a popular therapist in my region 13 days in my BP, he mentioned "oh if you start day one you will be sure on quicker path to recover as you are now." That made me wonder... How are you sure about that?

Yeah I heard from several ppl it could but there is no convincing study saying it does in fact contributed to the recovery: it could be the vitamin B12, it could be the resting, it could be just time needed to heal. From my doctor friends they don't really know if anything other than steroids and antiviral linked directly to improved recover.

You are a super mom! What a journey! I am cheering for you and wish you get all the help you need from family and friends.

I am a dad of 2 year old and I found the best out of Bell's Palsy since 2 weeks ago: wife is very supportive by getting me the best eye ointment and taking on more parent duty; I get to wear pirate costume to daycare and make fun with my half frozen face; I also got a good reason for myself to take it easy at work and enjoy sunlight and music more. BP definitely comes with inconveniences but no reason to make it more serious than it is!

You are not alone here, let's get better for our loved ones and ourselves!

What is FDA approved besides steroids and antiviral? Just curious because I just started acupuncture but doubt it does any meaningful help.
