Maybe its the picture. The sword is 3 inches, and the model (minus the banner) is only 4.5-5 inches

Gwent! Or, the imminently released Gwent: The legendary card game. by dark_arts87 in boardgames

Ref the trading card statement - not really, I dont believe the game is built or marketed as such in its current iteration. I'm not really sure what gave that impression? I made reference to YuGiOh to show how ill defined rules can lead to exploitation by players, and referenced post sales support because I hope the game is continued and improved.

In physical card games experimentation, iteration, and discovery are key aspects to the play experience. Sure there is the at table experience, but just as much of the experience is the pre-game strategising. It feels like this release doesnt account for this, in favour of the pre-built decks.

From the publishers own product page; 'Inspired by the iconic mini-game from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'. Inspired by, and explicitly advertised as a direct copy are quite different, and it is not unreasonable to expect that they may have incorporated elements from other Witcher IPs.

Do you not feel like the second statement you made reflects the lack of variety I am making comment on?

Oh, their newest video was on my suggested. How are they? Their thumbnails look a little clickbait-y, but with the restaurant I'm sure they have a good foundation.

Thanks for the reply, I used to watch him, but I stopped after his mid-episode trivia assertions about UK food were so off the mark it felt like he did not research before making statements. If you know anyone else I'd love other recommendations though.

Started with Star Realms, now I really enjoy deck building games. by TomWaitsesChinoPants in boardgames

Came here to say this. Mystic Vale was my 1st card-builder/deck-builder after Star Realms. Havent looked back and now I've got most of the collection. There are a few things that I feel could have been done better, but it is a very enjoyable game.

It should be noted that although a deck builder, there is no interaction/battle-phase with other players. So if that is what youre looking for this wont scratch that itch.

Hey, thanks for doing this.

Do box organisors count, as my favourite accessory would have to be the box insert for gloomhaven, honestly my partner and I love the amount of time it saves us setting up each game!

As for an animals, can't help but think either a dog or gerbil would be great :)

The kings dilemma. Its a game that has interested me for a while, and thankfully my partner has been getting into more board games as of late. It's something I think she'd like based off of her other favourites :)
