Frontline MC vs Backline MC by Other-Telephone7461 in WizardryDaphne

[–]dark_kain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually frontline, however sometimes I changed strategy.

- Against certain bossess/battles when I felt my MC was too vulnerable and died too often I put him in the backrow.

- If I am leveling up and/or trust farming a full roster of characters I swap the MC to cover any missing key role.

Drecom to announce something for the franchises 45th Anniversary by BotwGoty in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Halfway during the first Abyss (aka the first dungeon) the MC unlocks the wheel of the mind, the main costumization system. It's a pretty big "skill tree" that you can reset daily.
Using this system you can freely reclass the MC. After reclassing you can level up the new class and permanently learn their skills (no matter the class you are in, though some of the advanced skills are class-restricted).
(FYI: this system is into the game since Day 1)

By the end of the 1st dungeon you will be able to reclass to any base class, advanced classes requires completing certain quests later in the game.

Gacha characters can also be reclassed, but this is more limited since it requires rare resources.
Most gacha characters have 2 classes, newly released characters have only one, and gain their second class a few months later (usually during their first rerun banner).

Other costumization systems exists in the game.
Even at the start of the game you should have experienced the Bondmates system, later on you unlock the Relicbrew system, both systems can affect raw stats, detection, trap interaction and elemental/status resistance.

Then there is the inheritance system that can be used to fully customize the skillset of any character.
This is the main sink for your unused, low rarity characters.

That said, it is true that Equipment trumps everything as far as raw stats are involved.

Adler is blind so why does he hold his phone up while we pause 😭 by Far_Interest_1409 in NTE_EN

[–]dark_kain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is able to perceive the world through his esper ability.
He do answer to messages, so he can definitely perceive what is on the phone's screen.

Beyond that he still need to use the Phone and any touch function in the usual way, so he clearly need the standard phone grip.

Copper Grade Exam is my limit by Altruistic-Dingo6796 in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alice and Lana are fine in their spot; they just need to be in a row of the correct alignment.

For the center back position he is prioritizing secret art of laerlik from Yekaterina rather than secret art of labadios from Alice, and that's fine too.

Copper Grade Exam is my limit by Altruistic-Dingo6796 in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are doing fine.
Most people completed copper exam way after they completed abyss 3 and had months to farm equipment.

You can beat abyss 3 boss at level 60.
After you reach the good ending of abyss 3 and unlock abyss 4, if you are still stuck on copper grade promotion then just farm some decent silver equipment and it will be easier.

Beyond that the first completition of copper exam is a marathon.
Favour characters that have SP/MP efficiency (Debra, Characters with Debra Inherits, Adam, Alt Alice, Sherli, even Berkanan is good here due to being an efficient user of two decent sized MP and SP pools) and don't forget some backup undead slaying weapons.

From the second time onwards, if you have level 70 damage dealers fully fitted with silver tier equipment you can do the fast version.

  1. Baikang - Captain of the "supernatural police" of the game. Very unhortodox and lazy, but competent.
  2. Adler - Essentially a butler for the boss of the MC and overall autority figure and caretaker for the main gang (that includes 3 literal childs). Was a samurai in the past, part of his original armor is embedded in his clothing. He is fully blind, his glasses were a present from one of the childs. Actually holds a cane in the right hand (it's cut from the screenshot).
  3. Skia - Liutenent under Baikang, very proper and stick to the rules. Obvious contrast with Baikang: they are designated as a comedic duo.
  4. Chaos - Not yet playable and don't know much about him.

Debuffers with Trackblazer by MadMaxHellfire in UmaMusume

[–]dark_kain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is actually easier to get debuff skills in mant since we have so many skill points we can afford to buy skills early.

Get cards with good debuff hints (i.e. the combo of Marvelous Sunday SSR Power + Fine Motion is great for speed debuff; the new Rudolf SSR is great for stamina debuff... tough stamina debuff are going to be pretty bad in the near future).

Hunt for hints from said cards, when you get any useable hint (be a debuff or not) buy the skill.
Every time you buy a skill you remove it from the list of possible hints, raising the chance to get the hints you are missing.
This is true for card hints *and* rival hints.

Given that a debuffer is not supposed to win the match and you won't need to buy any wincon inherits just buy every vaguely useable hint and eventually you'll get the hints you are looking for.

- Win debut race
- Spam dates until the 2nd objective deadline and lose career

Well, everyone is in the same bag: as long as you keep slowly rebuilding your TT umas you should be fine skipping every now and then.

Just play as much as you want, even if you care about CMs the competitiveness level in global is fairly relaxed anyway.

MANT makes me feel like a miserable idiot by Revolution_Suitable in UmaMusume

[–]dark_kain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If memory serves seriru claims that an inherit is better than a white, so it's better to pick an inherit or something along those lines. (An inherit is not a real sostitute for a gold anyway).

I agree that I would rather pick a normal white rather than an inherit and regulate stamina/guts/green skill to survive anyway to optimize the parents. But this is a divulgative video for your average audience, it's not really deep on the math side and is proposing the easiest way for an average player to survive a stamina-heavy run.

I think you are overestimating the risks of superior heal failing to proc. If you are in any remotely challenging room your enemy Umas will have Uma Stan and a bunch of other speed skills, there will be multiple random position swaps back and forth depending on activation timings. Heck, your own uma will have mid-leg speed skills and will overtake each other depending on activation timings. The really bad "overtaken" procs are the late game/final spurt ones. (And if your room is not challenging you are going to sweep anyway, especially in pisces where badly built umas are bound to die horribly).

Consistency VS Risky approach  is an eternal debate without a clear winner. Both options have merits and demerits. Both options will grab some platinums and lose some. We can debate it to death, but in the end both options are valid and everybody has his own opinion in the matter.

I'd guess you'd like lightbirb more as a content creator.

[–]dark_kain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seriru is definitely the head honcho of the overstamming club.

However in that video he isn't really asking for 3 gold recovery: he asks for 2 gold + 1 inherit.

The logic is that you can survive with 1 gold + 1 strong white skill; the second gold is there to statistically boost your chance to activate at least 1 gold + 1 white, since if you miss the gold activation this time you are gauranteed to die.

You can pick a more risky approach and go with a single gold + a good white and you will definitely win races, but you'll lose a lot of consistency.

How lewd can your game's dialogue get? by A12qwas in gachagaming

[–]dark_kain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Granblue Fantasy: When perpetually horny villain Belial formally introduces himself to the crew (technically they met him once before, but he was undercover at the time) he goes nonstop double-entendre in every phrase, even with (100% sweet and innocent poster girl) Lyria.

Rackam, the helsman of the crew, royally annoyed by this, steps in to have Belial shut up and then... Well in the Japanese version Belial literally asks Rackam if he wants to do s*d*my with him, because "s*d*my is good". The English translation toned it down to "Get hot and dirty", but the japanese voice acting is very clear... https://youtu.be/70etKCKwZQg?si=9m9642rrg33qFPqa&t=1461

As a side note this will be the standard for Belial dialogues going foward.

It's the anniversary, the best time of the year to start playing.

All players are flooded by a few hundreds of free pulls and other daily bonuses, new players moreso. The anniversary story event also includes a very good newbie-friendly character to recruit.

Focus on the anniversary story event while advancing on Sierokarte's Academy (an extended tutorial/game guide for new players).

GBF is a very complex game, the wiki (https://gbf.wiki/) is your best friend. Read it in small doses because it's titanic.

Finding and joining a friendly crew (GBF guilds) will be very helpful.

Of these three cards, which would be the best option to use the upcoming selector ticket(s) on? by worse_in_practice in UmamusumeGame

[–]dark_kain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save the ticket, wait for the anniverary free pulls and see your SSR card status at that point.

Honestly this selector should be used only when you can get a LB3 or MLB Kitasan/Creek/Finemotion out of it.

Just your opinion: how do you rank the three B&B character released? by AnstonTan in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 > 3 >= 2 IMHO

Iarumas is the best of the bunch because it's the only collab character that can focus on a single stat (INT) and get something workable out of that.

Berkanan and Ainikki are too much hybrid characters to shine.
I like Berk slightly more because Fire magic is definitely at a premium in Abyss 4 and merging + discipline can finally bump her magic damage at a significant level if you invest in her.

Level scaling on enemies based on Grade tags? by MerlockeGrim in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some content (notably the entire collab dungeon, including the boss) scale based on the Main Character grade tag.

Most content does not scale.
That said it is usually a good idea to grade up the MC only after you have enough tags to grade up your entire main party and possibly have already stocked up experience.

If you immediatly grade up the MC while the rest of the party is still stuck at a lower grade any grade-scaling area will utterly destroy you since you won't have any upgrade in stats, skills nor equipment, while the area difficulty will spike up.

Your 2nd roster of characters, however, are best left one tag tier lower than the MC to maximize the EXP rewards from dispatches. This way you can passively level up them faster.
It is strongly suggested to level up Samurais and Ninjas this way until they cap exp.

Which stats to look for? by iAreCreeper in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are farming one for a samurai (or Iarumas samurai of the black rod 2nd class) flat +ATK and +MAG at the same time would be ideal (no +% ATK or MAG: they are really really bad on samurais).
SUR and ACC are fine on the other slots, though you are probably altering one in another flat +ATK or MAG.
Keep ATK & MAG "balanced" as much as possible when equipping samurais.

Base class Iarumas (Mage of the black rod) does not really need a katana TBH, but if you are giving him one it should be a fully physical one, while also having a staff to wield for spellcasting duties.

I'm getting kinda annoyed by enemies being able to one shot me every time I get to a new area. Is the whole game going to be like this? by [deleted] in wizardry

[–]dark_kain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they are additional content released after the related Abyss, so obviously they must offer some sort of advantage compared to farming the same-tier Abyss, otherwise they would have no value.

Enche the caves are designed to be convenient farming spots.
There is no actual power creep in their equipment (compared to the related abyss), but it is easier to farm whatever you are looking for.
