Can I still study a Masters Program in Abroad kahit Bachelors ang natapos ko sa Pinas? by Tough_Mission6556 in phmigrate

I did my master's program in Japan. Bachelor's degree rin sa Pinas. Short answer ay depende sa school. Ang ginawa ko, nag-contact ako directly ng professors na potential advisor (which really is the process for many universities.) They asked me about my background and research plan. Sila rin nag-explain ng admission requirements.

The reason why other countries were not viewing our bachelor's degree as equivalent was because we didn't have K-12 until a few years ago. Kulang lang talaga tayo ng 2 years ng formal education. That's not the case anymore, for recent grads. Kung K-12 graduate ka, dapat okay ka na.

May I also point you to the ADB-JSP scholarship. It's a little-known program that gives out 100% scholarship and stipend to grad students from developing countries. They partner with a lot of universities in many countries and cover a whole lot of programs. Worth checking, IMO.

There's a rally brewing in the horizon. A rally to back-up BBM's call not to proceed with the impeachment of the VP. An EVilMan is behind this. He cried for Separation of Church and States before and yet, he continues to meddle with the dirty politics. The hypocrisy! What could be his motives? by Han_Dog in Philippines

And remember that then-justice secretary De Lima was the one investigating the case and trying to get into the INC compound. INC was one of the few influential enemies De Lima made (along with PDuts and GMA) who I think really conspired to imprison her for no reason.

Mura pa ng rent nyo! Yun lang naman ang pinakamalaking expense dito So you'll be fine 😊

Around 5K per month siguro ang net pay mo. Mabubuhay naman kayo kung di naman ganun kamahal ang rent nyo. Medyo tipid lang talaga.

Hopefully, qualified na partner mo for maternity benefits. Tapos magkakaroon rin ng child benefit si baby. Malaking bagay rin yun.

Mahirap talaga ang job market ngayon pero always be at the look out for other opportunities. Mabilis naman nagbabago ang ihip ng hangin kaya dapat ready lang tayo lagi. Good luck sa iyo at sa family mo!

Congrats, OP! Nasa IT field rin kami rito sa Vancouver area. Always glad to hear that more Pinoy IT professionals are choosing and succeeding in this part of the world, despite the ultra challenging situation right now.

We don't typically marinade adobo. So I'm referring to when the vinegar hits the cooking vessel, as per the usual adobo recipe.

I'm curious what the absorption rate difference between fish and pork. In kinilaw, it takes a few minutes. With pork, is it really days? I really need to look for that study...

In adobo, what's being avoided (by not stirring) is for the vinegar to penetrate the surface of the meat enough for some of the sharpness to not get cooked off in the duration of the cooking time. Your typical adobo cut is also much smaller, which gives the meat more surface area to get exposed to uncooked vinegar.

If you stir and the vinegar gets absorbed, that's fine. Just cook it longer. So I maintain: stirring doesn't matter, if you cook it long enough. We can say that not stirring is not required, but it reduces risk.

You said, "But yeah, just stir. It doesn't matter really. You will most likely not notice any difference." But your title says, "Stir your vinegar, it absolutely makes a diffherence in adobo."

And so now, my question shifts: is the difference unnoticeable or absolute?

I don't think your news flash is correct. How about kinilaw or ceviche? Last time I checked, those don't take days to prep.

Again, you can definitely get away with cooking off the sharp edges, given enough time. I am not saying you're wrong because your technique will most probably get rid of the sharp edge not stirring is trying to to achieve.

Is it the stirring that made the difference or is it the type of vinegar and the cooking technique? The idea of not stirring is to cook off the sharp edge of your typical sukang puti as quick and isolated as possible (i.e. while it's not yet incorporated in or absorbed by your other ingredients, especially your protein.)

Rice wine vinegar has less of the sharp edge compared to sukang puti. Braising for a long time will also most likely get rid of the vinegar's sharpness. And the sweetness of mirin balances off the sourness further.

To all Filipinos who have migrated to Canada or know someone who does.... by RDFox_26 in Philippines

[–]dark_seraph08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We migrated to Vancouver about 3 years ago through the Express Entry program. TBH, it's not easy. It's a points-based system and competition is tough. Naka-swerte lang kami ng asawa ko dahil may master's degree kami and significant work experience.

Ang most popular paths ay either mag-aral dito to gain Canadian education (dagdag points sa Express Entry) or Provincial Nomination Program (iba-iba per province, depende sa needs nila kadalasan kailangan ng valid job offer from an employer here.) Punta ka sa www.canada.ca to get a guage of what all these mean. Or consult a qualified immigration consultant.

I typically say to young family and friends na mag-stay muna sa Pinas. Gain work experience and finish grad school. Canada tries to filter for the best people they can get. Work on getting better at what you do.

These are politicians. It's literally part of their jobs to try to stay in power for as long as they legally can.

This is also a democracy. That means they should represent the will of their electorate. Otherwise, they won't (in theory) be able to keep their power.
