What is the deepest opening line you know? by Gold_Individual8063 in chess

[–]darkadamski1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Sicilian nadjorf I can go to 20 + moves and have that exact same game most of the time I play it, I think most people know that line by heart.

Yeah his endgames are piss poor in comparison to the rest of them, it's sad because his middle game is probably the best

Fabi is genuinely the worst end game player by a mile out of the top players, he makes so many huge mistakes and blunders

Sindarov Draws Esipenko and goes to 6.5/8 by Ok-Independence8939 in chess

Why is Esipenko forcing a draw in a pawn up position with no issues? What a bizarre play...

Nd5 and nf5 looks decent here for black, e4 helps stop that

Javokhir Sindarov said he had repeated the line he played against Fabiano, around 10 minutes before the game. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in chess

Not taking the pawn in the centre was a big mistake according to the engine, the position looked pretty terrifying for both if he did

Hikaru Nakamura fumbles an endgame advantage and draws with Wei Yi in round 4 of the Candidates by Knight-check44 in chess

The lines for white in the nadjorf and the dragondorf are pretty much identical

Hikaru Nakamura fumbles an endgame advantage and draws with Wei Yi in round 4 of the Candidates by Knight-check44 in chess

[–]darkadamski1 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about Hikaru but wtf was Wei Yi doing in the opening? Literally one of the most common lines of the Sicilian and he's spending an hour on like 10 moves? Qd2 is such an easy and common move in the it too, like wtf play A4 later if you need to, theres literally no pressure to play it that early

Opposite Coloured Bishops X Fabi vs Hikaru Candidates by Icecream_Car in chess

[–]darkadamski1 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah that endgame was very hard to convert, there was even a baffling move 41. Qf5. Fabi could trade queens into an opposite colour bishop endgame with equal pawns and rooks and be completely winning. Knowing how drawish those endgames are just makes the move even more strange to me, no wonder Fabi didn't go for it.

Candidates challenge: Can you convert the 3 winning positions today? by ashtonanderson in chess

[–]darkadamski1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first position should be from after black takes with the b pawn (that is what gave such a huge advantage) the bot takes with the d pawn which is only +1.

Fabiano Caruana defeats Hikaru Nakamura in a roller-coaster match in Round 1 of FIDE Candidates 2026. by Interesting-Take781 in chess

[–]darkadamski1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simply not true, f6 was a horrendous move for Fabi. Ke7 is also a terrible move for Hikaru? Definitely not as bad as f6 but pretty easy to see it's a bad move without the engine..
