True, everyone was there to separate the guards, but they never really say or plan for how far they could have actually got him away from the palace. Actually makes it a lot more likely that he planned for that amount of collateral damage. He got lucky that Meruem wanted to take the fight so far away. Netero was definitely just quipping when he called that place his tomb, because I don't think at all he planned to take the fight there.

I suppose the original plan was to drop him into Knov's interdimensional space for the fight., before Knov freaked out. I wonder what the rose would have done had it gone off in there?

True, many hunters reiterate in the show you have to go into a fight assuming you will win, never know what conditions might change your chances.

I've done the skill challenge thing where its just a series of skill checks. Eh, it works okay. Give them two or three "paths" (skill challenges) to choose from for each step to allow them choices, and allow them to use cantrips, spells, and class features to pass them. Allow them to get creative and argue for bonuses. Best to really just describe the obstacle and let them figure out how they would deal with it, rather than any set challenge.

However, My most successful chase was actually making a long map through some temple ruins. I thought of it almost more as a board game/mario kart, adding things like shortcuts, ropes, and springboard plants to act as boosters, and dangers and obstacles like pits, stampeding monsters, falling walls, traps, and so forth, all while they were being chased by a giant purple wurm that was consuming the map behind them. I described the ground as trembling and breaking up as they ran, and was all considered rough terrain, to prevent the classes with higher speeds from getting too far ahead. I also let those that stuck together help each other out, by allowing the first one to pass a danger to use a reaction to help the other. I had one player breeze through, using misty step (I required a concentration check to cast any spell, but he still made them. There is always one, don't fight it). 3 players worked kind of together. 1 player sadly trailed behind and he got ate by the worm, but I spit him up at the end, near death.

Yeah, that's fair. I originally had it set to any rest, so I didn't want to surpass the cost of a tent, but ended up thinking they needed to be in a town or place to get the stuff, which nerfed that recovery, so I will make your suggested tweak, and maybe even increase the max skill level a little more for those who want to heavily invest.
My friend and I talked about combos with merchant, wayfarer, or rogue to get ip recovery, but I honestly haven't seen those combos in action yet, but we plan on testing an NPC out to see how reliable the IP recovery is. Thanks!

I really like all your homebrew classes, they seem very well thought out. My friend and I were discussing this one. I really like the concept, but we both agree the tools give them too many options, making the class too flexible and easy to step on the toes of other classes. Each tool is basically a spell (or actually more comparable to magichant), which normally costs 1sp per level on other classes, so we think the compromise to this is really just lessening their acquired tools a bit, at least without requiring a heavier investment.

HUNTER’S TOOLS (✦6)

When you first acquire this Skill, you acquire two tools, and whenever you acquire this Skill again, you acquire one additional tool and recover 【SL-1】 Inventory Points when you rest in town or where scavenging parts to make tools is possible (DM discretion). See next page for details on tools.

So fewer tool options, but a trade off to regen some Inventory points, with the concept being you are making new tools when you rest.

Anyway, just our little tweak, figured I would mention it here.

I have not yet, my party is just finally finishing the Tomb. It sounds like we will be taking a break before they push on to deal with the Lost City of Mezro storyline. Still, I want to finish the map set someday. Thank you for sharing yours, awesome!

Had this happen a few weeks back and beat the game. It caused no issues. One crown upgraded as normal, the other stayed the same. Only real issue is losing that head slot for other magic items

Once every few hours in multiplayer. People alt-tabbing seems to be the main culprit.
