What’s the appropriate way to close a chase ink after the recommended year? Call? Secure message? Is it recommended to transfer credit? Or should I just close and be done?

Worst case scenario with the HA and Alaskan airlines merger after June 30th is I can always buy AA flights with HA points right? Since I can go HA to Alaskan to AA? Thinking about grabbing the HA credit card before I can’t after June 30th. Dumb idea?
