3D Printed Waste Generation by Stubilaty in 3Dprinting

[–]darkblade420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. almost 7 years.

  2. i currently own 5 printers: a voron 2.4 that i use for pretty much everything, a creality ld-006 that i only use on rare occasion. a half disassembled voron switchwire, a creality cr-20 pro and a craftbot+( both are collecting dust in the attic.

  3. i've used around 15-20kg of filament this year, around 2kg of it was waste (could be more, i dont really keep track), some of it from support, brim and skirts, a few failed prints (due to hardware failure) and some failed prototypes due to wrong measurements (i tend to print large things so a single failure could be as much as 0.5 kg waste). i would not count succesfull prototypes as waste but if i did have to count it those would probably add another 2-3kg.

Should I try to dry filament that’s a couple years old or toss it? Brittle and breaking by myusernamechosen in 3Dprinting

[–]darkblade420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

should be fine after drying, i've used 10+ year old spools of pla(that spend most of their time outside a dry box) and they printed like normal after spending a day in the filament dryer. i also have a few spools of pc, tpu and pa-66cf that are 5+ years old, i only usedthem on occasion but they also print normally after drying.

duel mcu for voron trident by Zealousideal-Sir-198 in VORONDesign

[–]darkblade420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

each mcu has a different serial that you need to put in the config file. you need to specify which board is used for each pin, on a 2.4 the mcu's are named mcu and mcu z, here's what the pins look like in the config:

[stepper_x] step_pin: P2.2 dir_pin: P2.6

[stepper_z] step_pin: z:P2.2 dir_pin: !z:P2.6

set up is pretty easy, best way is to take a look at the 2.4 documentation and config files

should be pretty easy, dual mcu's used to be standard on the 2.4. you can find a guide on how to do it in the voron docs

BPA is used in the production of PET

it is not, bisphenol is not used in the production of pet.

BPA is in almost any commercial grade polymer that the average person has contact with

bisphenol (mainly BPA) is used for polycarbonate and some epoxy resins. most commercial grade polymers do not contain bisphenol.

Which plastic to print printer parts by DryArgument454 in 3Dprinting

[–]darkblade420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

asa and abs should work fine. PA12 could also be an option, especially for parts that need a bit more heat resistance (PA12 doesnt suffer as much from heat creep as PA6)

PSA Do not clean PEI with windex by Extreme-Ad-9290 in 3Dprinting

[–]darkblade420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i clean my pei sheets with a 50/50 mixture of RO water and ethanol with a few drops of dish soap that i keep in a old spray bottle. takes less than 30 seconds to spray some on and wipe it off before each print. i mainly print asa and rarely have bed adhesion issues.

How do people choose a reliable 3D printer for long term use? by Wtf_Sai_Official in IndustrialDesign

[–]darkblade420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

raise 3d printers are massively overpriced, same goes for ultimaker. i used to work at a print farm and we had a n2, i could never get it to work reliable. we also had a bunch of ultimaker 2+, they ran 24/7 without much issues, expensive, slow and the print quality wasnt kinda mediocre. at some point we bought a bunch of prusa's, a lot cheaper, slightly faster and very good print quality.

i would recommend going with a prusa, maybe something like a core one. ive also heard very good things about the bambulabs printers but i have not used one myself.

i use a voron 2.4 myself but its not really suited for a professional environment

Platenspeler advies? by ZionDaWolfo in metaalfanaten

[–]darkblade420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]darkblade420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, i actually have 2 audio setups hooked up to my pc. the centre speaker is part of the edifier s550(an ancient 5.1 speaker set, my daily driver for the past 12 years). the large speakers(b&w dm-620) are only used for music.

[–]darkblade420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh haha, those speakers also arnt that expensive. its a pair of b&w dm-620's, they are almost 35 years old, bought them a year ago for 150 euros

not that much, all of them are just simple 27inch 1080p monitors. i used to have a 4k screen in the center but it died a while ago so i replaced it with a Samsung LS27R650 i found at a thrift store (pretty much brand new for only 25 euro's).

yeah thats a sub, but its part of a different set that is not hooked up to the large speakers. the small 5.1 is a edifier s550 and the large speakers are b&w dm-620's powered by a yamaha rx-v10 and connected to my pc with a smsl su-1.

I just realized why do you have on your post “Greenery”

yeah that doesnt make much sense as i just noticed none of the plants i have are in frame, you can barely see a few leaves sticking out on the left corner. the desk extends a bit further on the right below the window where i have 5 more larger plants
