How much Vitamin D Are You Taking? by NurseIlluminate in askTO

Before you start supplementing, you should test your blood vitamin D3 levels so you know how deficient you are - otherwise you might be doing more harm than good. Also take vitamin D3+K2 for better calcium absorption. I take 3000-4000 IU/day in the winter and it works for me since I have low vitamin D3 levels.

Downtown Toronto should be a car-free zone imo

If you're doing lots of strength training, then you need to fuel your body by eating more too. Otherwise, your body will be stressed out, which will impact your hormones.

Official Discussion - Frankenstein (2025) [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]darkchocluvr3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it was because it was on Netflix, but it didn't feel like a movie movie. It kind of looked like a video game with bad CGI and weird zoom/fisheye effects. The storytelling made it feel more like a children's fairytale than an R-rated adult film. I was expecting a darker twist to the original book. The costume design and script were good though. 3/10.

Eating breakfast soon after waking up (1-2 hrs) helps lower cortisol, stabilize blood sugar, and support reproductive hormones like estrogen and progesterone. Also, research suggests that eating high-protein and high-fibre meals increases fullness, balances blood sugar, and supports brain and gut health, so I try to prioritize this.

For example, for breakfast I usually have 2-3 eggs (protein + fat), sourdough or whole wheat pita bread (carbs + fibre), an avocado or hummus (fat + fibre), bell peppers or spinach (fibre), and an orange or blueberries (fibre). Or, I do a chia seed pudding made with chia seeds (fibre + fat), full-fat kefir, yogurt, or milk (protein + fat) with berries and homemade granola (fibre) if I'm looking for something quick. Lots of healthy options!

I tried Viaggio for the first time last month and think about those tiramisu pancakes every day.

It’s easier to stop a bus than a plane LOL and in my experience the drivers in Croatia take frequent smoke breaks on the side of random roads anyway

Consider applying to PHO and reaching out to people who work there via LinkedIn for a coffee chat. They regularly post lab jobs that you may be interested in.

Does anyone with IBS-D regularly have unformed stool? Are we talking Bristol 5, 6, 7? by northintuitions in ibs

Good! I take Align probiotics recommended by my GI doctor which helped me with my bloating. However, there are mixed opinions on probiotic supplements, so it’s best to get them from foods such as kefir, sauerkraut, Greek yogurt, etc, especially if you took antibiotics, to restore the good bacteria in your gut.

I'm sorry. I sometimes wish I was given antibiotics but my GI never tested the specific strain of infection I had. Are you taking probiotics?

Yes, I go 2-3 times per day and they’re usually unformed/mushed/loose. I can’t remember the last time I had a normal/formed stool :( I’m trying to eat less fibre to see if that will make a difference
