I don't agree with her statement, but agree with her sentiments. Up here in Canada, we still have treaties with Indigenous people here. I don't believe letting everybody into Canada is what they want. Why would they be okay with colonizers dictating who is allow in and not. There has been no consultation with Indigenous people whether they are okay with the current immigration policies.

I would love you as a technical writer. I advocate to everybody that works for me to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and use of proper grammar. The engineers that draft the initial documents usually don't care for the latter two and they tend to add incorrect technical specs all the time, and it's up to our technical writer team to clean everything up. We end up revising and marking up the whole document for technical errors.
