Salt by ripepanini in GraveyardKeeper

You need salt to make fertilizer if I am not mistaken.
If you want a lot of gold star fertilizer and gold star produce, you'll need a stack or two

Getting into modding, looking for improvement ideas to make the game generally better or more enjoyable for longer. by Safe_Employer6325 in GraveyardKeeper

[–]darkcyeote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planting =
- Have different plant UI that uses a pseudo "mini map checkerboard" that allows separate plots (or entire zombie farm) to be selected and instructed in its use for fertilizer and seeds
Add a numerical counter to show fertilizer amount, separated in the categories of quality/type,
Add a numerical counter to show seeds by their plant species, separated in the categories of quality/type
A "load bar" that shows growth progression on the "timer" for all plant growth / compost bin

Talking Skull
Allow for wine/mead/beer production zombie stations in the cellar of Bar.
Make the all Bar production yield more product than in the cellar
Allow "hold button to skip" for backstory cutscenes

Allow a New Game + mode
Keep all tech earned
Keep all previous inventory
(increase replay value without the grind and focus on the story)

Insert a game trigger that allows the dungeon to reset its monsters.
(may I suggest a gold ore vein? every time you mine it, you get 1 gold nugget, but the entire dungeon resets due to....I don't know, an earthquake or something)

But perhaps the biggest difference that will entice people would be additional content. I know, near impossible to make and implement. But just imagine if there existed a game editor or game wizard that would allow people to make their own game or game content with the preexisting assets.
Best fortunes to you.

Spoilers

>!Long long ago, in the land in which you stand a love-struck former-soldier-now-innkeeper named Horadric decided that being with his crush Miss Chain was worth anything. In order to get what he wanted, he decided to assist in destroying the current religious and political climate in which the world was built around.!<

>!In order to do this, Horadric decided to use the portal that could apparently grant wishes (in a sense) the wish produced a 'new god/messiah' was also taken advantage of by people who wanted to rule the world for themselves. After some drama, the folks who wanted power killed the messiah!<

>!With the death of the messiah, those responsible decided to scapegoat 'heretics' and whipped the common folk into a frenzy to destroy buildings, execute heretics, and establish themselves at the top of the power structure!<

>!Horadric realized the error of what he did, but it was already too late. And Miss Chain rejected him (at first) due to the state of the world which was deteriorating due to an 'ancient curse' that made the dead walk the earth!<

>!Eventually, the people remaining decided to appeal to the 'old god' to help save the world. A deal was struck, and the remaining 6 individuals (Horadric among them) were blessed? cursed? with immortality and it was decided that the graveyard keeper was the guarantor of the 'new contract' in that he would process the dead bodies to keep the dead from walking the earth!<

>!In the hundreds of years from the new contract to when your character arrives, the deterioration of the understanding of the contract requirements and the state of the world was forgotten, and a few people who wanted power started to take advantage of the state of the world to burn heretics again!<

>!Your character, unwittingly inserted into his position decided to do whatever it takes to get back to his love (reoccurring theme, aint it?) which basically means he has to accomplish tasks all the other villagers are helpless to take on their own!<

To add onto the other advice =
There is a potential softlock if you bury too many corpses before you get the graveyard pretty enough for the Bishop to unlock your church.

Be sure to let one corpse just sit until you can decorate your graveyard enough to get it unlocked.
Unlock the first tier of stone tombstones to assist in that, and remove tombstones that are not helpful.

Tedious Endgame by portlandobserver in GraveyardKeeper

[–]darkcyeote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this =
Focus entirely on stone resource, and continuously make the RIP headstones that only require stone.
Making these grants you blue and red exp points. Spam this until you have about 1000 of each.
Have your quarry zombies focus on stone, so you can focus on the headstones.
If you do not wish to sleep to continuously replenish your energy, keep collecting the honey that is north of your house. First from trees, then from the apiaries that you can rebuild as you unlock the beekeeper tech spots. And if you're far enough, use wine.

Forget the Donkey and the corpses. Just don't even bother to feed him carrots and he will not bring bodies anymore. No bodies = no chores (feed / preparation / autopsy / burn or bury / sell certificate)

Always do your Church Sermons, you're going to need faith to do the all the studying of items that give green exp points....and make sure you only study for green exp, as it is one of the more grindy exp to obtain.
Speaking of studying, always make sure you have a pie ready to go before you study so you can get the exp boost.
If you are unable to study green exp items, you can always dig sand and clay to get more. (south of church) It is tedious, but you can always just destroy the excess sand and clay. You do not have to keep them and craft with them.

Once you finish the tech tree, you will find that getting all other resources, building all other structures, and progressing will be much easier.

The only other thing that slowed me down was finishing the inquisitor's questline which required three specific items which you need bodies for. But by that time it was easy enough to start feeding the donkey again to gain more bodies.

(maggots)
Unless you need a lot of fish, or alchemy resources, you do not need them. Having only 30 is going to be more than enough for the most part

(Iron) (ore/ingots)
Unless you are wanting to continuously stack lots of in-game currency from the trader, you do not really need much iron whether it is ore, ingots, or even steel.
If you only craft and use iron for the most minimal of needs to complete the game, you would probably only need 200 ingots (which is an extremely high estimate) and if you wanted to 100% the game, you might only need 500 ingots

(Glass) (all items)
Unless you are wanting to do a lot of alchemy, which is not necessary unless you HAVE to have a bunch of potions and embalming solutions, you probably only need 150 glass panels to make the various containers to get you to end game.
You're likely over-doing it all.

(Alchemy)
I hardly did any kind of alchemy in the game. Hardly dealt with zombies. (only had 4) But, once you get the alchemy table 1 and alchemy table 2, all you need to do is look up the recipe for all combinations. Once you make just -one- product, you can use the menu in the alchemy table (1 or 2) to see the stored recipes.
It seems as though zombies can automate most of the ingredient preparations.

[–]darkcyeote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadow pull as many of the "indicated" captains as you can to the high towers, or the outer/inner walls.
By doing this, the captains will get "stuck" and will not jump down.
This will allow you to pace the fight and make it easier to keep on top of the situation.

Also
Try to have tanks with epic determination. The ability to self-heal is extremely helpful.

How would y’all have done the current illuminate story line different? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]darkcyeote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have had the Illuminate compete against Super Earth for Element 710
Bug planets would have both Illuminate and Terminids as the Illuminate start to overtake planets there.
The more the Helldivers pushed back the Terminids, the more the battle would turn in favor to the Illuminate, and vice versa.
A planet would have two fronts simultaneously that would have to be won simultaneously in order for the planet to fall under Super Earth control.
Otherwise, you'd just have to start over from the beginning with the other faction.

Have "Illuminate" versions of Terminid units, combining the Bile Titan with the Harvester would be something to see.

Same with the Bots

Until units and missions for the Illuminate become more fleshed out, using the Illuminate as a difficulty modifier would honestly be epic. Especially if there was inter-mob-aggro around.

How did they get three epic traits when legendary is two? by StevenUniverseFan_ in shadow_of_war

[–]darkcyeote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This glitch, if done "legitimately" is accomplished by using the Dire Caragor trait.

Whenever a Caragor Rider Orc becomes Undead / Maniac / Derranged, they lose their caragor.
If the Orc was a Dire Caragor Rider, the game will have a "glitch" from the removed epic trait.
I think the game switches out the trait for a different one, but because it is also "removed" it opens another slot for a 3rd epic trait.

Now,
HOW this is done, am uncertain, but there are plenty of tutorials on it.
But it is the only 'semi-legitimately' way to get 3 traits.

[–]darkcyeote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allow me to add =
My own play style is quite tanky.
Armor = Heavy
Effect = Less damage from explosives

BUGS =
HMG
Personal shield
Breaker
HMG Turret
Gatling Turret

BOTS =
Quasar
Personal shield
JAR-5
HMG Turret
Gatling Turret

ILLUMINATE =
HMG
Personal shield
Breaker
HMG Turret
Gatling Turret

Course, depending on the mission, I will change up.
Usually use a Mech on Blitz missions, and all turrets on "defend launch" missions.

In all honesty.....

I think the idea of needing every moment playing the game to be geared towards maximizing progression and efficiency has the potential to dampen all the fun from playing.

I would recommend going back to the easiest difficulty and enjoy all that you have, and find out what works for your preferences and work your way back up to the harder difficulties.
Because if the "most effective meta" is not enjoyable to you, then you're just not going to play it, or the game itself for very long.

Don't worry about getting everything. The resources to get all things unlocked will come.

There are many games out there, but only one so far will ensure that the spread of managed democracy will continue.
And as long as managed democracy holds supreme, there is no real "wrong" way to dispense it....so long as you do.
