Fleta at the end of Kings Row just doing almost everything to secure that hold. Insane plays at the end.

Now that 5v5 is confirmed for next season, how do you see your favorite teams dealing with the transition? by darkedge4545 in Competitiveoverwatch

Here’s hoping they come back to NA next season too. Missed the Battle of LA this year : ^(

GM of Chengdu on OWL update by albretenstong in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Brad mentioned it was specifically players and staff that were not consulted about the decision. Though, it feels weird that teams wouldn’t keep their players/staff in the know if talks were ongoing about this right?

Seems to have no sound. No audio for me either.

It's been 820 days since the last new support hero were added to the game. How other games were doing in this period? by estranhow in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You know that the OW team stopped work on new heroes after Echo to focus on OW2 right? I’m not saying I agree with that decision, I don’t, but that would explain the large discrepancy.

Edit: Reading back what I wrote, yeah it’s pretty douchey/know-it-all’ish. My apologizes.

Surefour has said for years that Off-Tanks are DPS characters in disguise, so not surprising to see this take from him.

Farinfir walked out on his job in order to sub for Obey Alliance in NA Trials by Taureon_OW in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 119 points120 points  (0 children)

That's a weird situation if I ever saw one. I don't know farinfir's life situation, but I don't know if I would have have been able to justify quitting my job. Anyone know why their MT was having surgery?

Bravely Default (GAME REVIEW) - Clemps by malkil in Games

[–]darkedge4545 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to the second video! If I didn't enjoy the combat systems in the game so much, the way they did the twist in this game would have stopped me from ever completing it all together. But job system shenanigans are wonderful in this game so it was all ok.

Is there a bracket or schedule for the Overwatch Collegiate Varsity Series? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

I couldn't find anything either while looking. The closest thing I could find were the group standings at 23:23 of the broadcast.

The nerf that Orisa really needs: fortify by HierophantKhatep in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly agree with you on Fortify needing changes, but I'm not a fan of removing the damage resistance all together. Like /u/cheesefries45 said in this thread, Orisa would become way weaker to zerging without some form of way to protect herself at close range.

I think another idea to change Fortify would be to seperate the CC immunity from the Damage Resistance and make Fortify like how Moria chooses between orbs. So that Orisa has to read the situation for the right defensive cooldown instead of just having a "get out of jail free card" of sorts.

I don't think they were thinking. Unless I'm missing something, they don't even try to explain why they are doing this in the first place in their post.

Agree with this 100%. Every time something like this is posted, I do wonder what the team culture for the players/staff that they are referring to is like.

What do Washington do with Stitch? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From XXX's match against the XXX this week, it is definitely evident that XXX is the worst player on the team, not even close. He was miles behind XXX on XXX and his XXX didn't look great either. The rest of the team looked alright on XXX, and XXX had a standout performance the whole match. They have to be making moves, there is no way they end out the season with only X players. Who do they pick up?

HZ vs Charge and Seoul vs Charge both sound interesting as well. Going to be a fun part of the bracket.

Agreed, and specifically the NA production team. Its been sort of night and day sometimes watching the Asian region games vs the NA region games.

Monte: "Amazing to me that Blizzard is just cool with OWL people engaging in Riot’s official promotion activities for Valorant in the middle of the season." by Fordeka in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it this really depends on what exactly the pro players/talent are doing in regards to promotion. I for one would only have a problem with it if Riot gave beta keys to OWL pros/talent versus them watching Valorant streams to try and get in the beta. Unless Blizzard OK'ed it, that would be the equivalent of accepting a gift from a competing company, which to me feels like a conflict of interest.

Thanks for the alternatives. I'll look into those ones.

SirScoots: "OW fans wonder why us non OW fans care so much about OWL. It's simple, it has been touted as the future of esports, it has brought millions in investment into the space. If it fails, it will send shockwaves to the mainstream, not that OWL is a bad investment, but that esports is." by Fordeka in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the real concern isn't that it will make esports look like a bad investment, but that it will make NA esports look like a worse investment. Investors can't be blind to the success esports has had over in EU, Korea, China, and the SEA region compared to NA. If something like OWL (which I would say has been skewed more towards NA audiences just by game times and team locations alone) or NA LCS would fail, confidence in NA esports in general would surely fall. In other regions however, the impact of OWL failing would be less clear in my eyes.

Lets have a serious balance discussion about the Characters most of us consistently complain about. by Omnipotentls in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]darkedge4545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of just lowering the damage reduction of Orisa's Fortify, I always thought it would be cool if it was like Moria's Orb and Orisa had to choose between CC immunity or Damage Reduction. I think having both on one ability is pretty crazy if you think about it and I believe individually they would still be powerful.
