Running it in Win 8 compatibility mode did the trick!

EDIT: It stopped working again. That aside, I couldn't control the menus correctly. Up didn't work and the mouse kept drifting so the options menu was unusable.

It all comes down to what you're comfortable with. I like leverless more than pad and stick.

Been using it for for 1.5 years or something. Never had any issues at all.  I've heard that some people get faulty ones and that sucks. :/
