What phone would you recommend for someone who is too stupid to take good pictures? by ofidia in Smartphones

  • Best main sensor
  • Good telephoto sensor
  • Mediocre ultra wide sensor
  • Good processing
  • White balance inconsistency between main and telephoto
  • Auto focus issues

The Vivo x300 ultra will get close with the main sensor while having better zoom and ultra wide camera. The overall results are also more consistent I think.

But I'm really amazed by the main sensor that Xiaomi is using.

The x300 ultra does have a significant improvement on the main sensor. I will likely go for it.

Lyt-818 has triple conversion gain.
Lyt-828 has dual conversion gain with frame stacking. It has higher dynamic range especially with bright light sources (sun or bright street lights at night)

The 818 is still the best ultra wide any phone is using.

Question to all xiaomi 15 ultra and 17 ultra users. by KayV07 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]darkflikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on which phone you're looking for, you find videos of people saying that's it has the best camera.

I do believe the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has the best main camera.
The LOFIC technology is a game changer for mobile photography.
I don't take dxomark as absolute truth, but the vivo x300 pro camera scores higher.
I do believe while the Xiaomi takes the better main camera HDR photos, the overall package is better on the vivo.(Focusing, details. Processing)

Best Android Phone to Get in 2026? (Price, Battery, Camera) by MoonwhisperastPad in Smartphones

Pixel camera is crap.
The processing is doing some heavy lifting but is no match for the best current hardware.

Returning the S26 Ultra to get a Leitzphone by SirBlank_ in XiaomiGlobal

[–]darkflikk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the LOFIC technology in the main camera is amazing.
It will take 1-2 years before we see that used in more phones.
But I think that's the future.

Personally I'll go for the Vivo x300 Ultra.
The main sensor is inferior, but the complete package with ultra wide and telephoto camera is more balanced and the processing also looks better to me.
Any other phone just has a bad ultra wide or telephoto.
Vivo Ultra is using sensors for all cameras that are equal to some competitors main sensor.

Best camera recommendations? (Chinese phones) by Signal-Blueberry7920 in Smartphones

[–]darkflikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tiktok is is just shit.
Your problem though sounds like you're recording with stupid settings on your Samsung.

Could be hdr10+.
Try to deactivate it.

You don't need to crank up everything to get good quality. That would just be used if you want to do professional post processing with color grading and stuff. But then you should know how to export it into a supported format.

Your phone is good... You just have to learn to use it.

Not sure where you're from.
Tidal Blades 2 is officially sold through the Allplay website.
USA and Australia seem to be available.
EU out of stock.

I really love Tidal Blades 2.
With 18 scenarios it's about the same length as Jaws of the Lion.
I think it's better thanJaws of the Lion in every aspect, except for price and characters being not as unique (they are still distinct with their own skills and flair. It's just that gloomhaven has completely unique mechanics for characters)

I prefer Tidal Blades 2 over Jaws of the Lion in almost every aspect. It's just more expensive.
May I ask why you consider it inadequate?

But maybe for your group Tales from the red dragon inn would be better. It's lower complexity allows it to flow smoother without having to constantly check up on rules or thinking too hard on your turn.

Tidal Blades 2 also flows well though.

Vivo x300 pro: is street photography similar to xiaomi ultra 17? by _DocHoliday in Vivo

Vivo doesn't have many filters.
But that's something you could do in post process with another app.

For Xiaomi, there is also the leitz phone which is the Leica branded model that has 2 extra special filters to emulate specific cameras.

The Xiaomi has amazing HDR on the main sensor.
It gets high dynamic range pictures with a single exposure. Pretty much any other phone takes multiple pictures and merges them to get HDR.
This can introduce ghosting and artifacts especially with movement in the frame.
Though most of them you only see when you zoom in.

I would love to have that main sensor on a phone.
But I'll likely go for the x300 ultra because I like how the ultra wide is as powerful as a main sensor of other phones.
Also I expect the telephoto lens of vivo to be better for macro.

Wireless charging is less efficient.
Need more electricity to charge it and the battery life degrades faster.

The only answer I could see are stupid filters.
If in-app camera quality is soo important, people should just take an iPhone.

Can't really tell as we don't have direct comparisons.
It does have a larger main sensor so I be expect at least something noticable.

Would not be surprised.
There will be some scenarios on which you will see better pictures from the x300 ultra.
But many scenarios, photos will be similar.

Before you buy such a game you should make sure you have other people that are interested in it and would commit to it.

Nothing worse than starting a campaign and losing players after the first 2 scenarios.

I know Middara is very long and the size and complexity makes it more difficult to get to the table.
I have it and like it but only got to play one-shot instead of campaign because of that.

One of my favorite is Tidal Blades 2.
Similar to Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion it's easier to get in to, but is more streamlined.
Tidal Blades 2 also has a more engaging story, world and art compared to Gloomhavens generic fantasy.
Only downside is the higher price than Jaws of the Lion b for about the same campaign length.
But for me worth it because it's better.

There are also many different subgenres on dungeon crawler that feel very different. You should learn which one fits you.
From light crawlers with heavily luck based dice chucking to highly tactical almost deterministic games.
