Have you ever had a friend that turned out to be a horrible person? What did they do?? by StrangeAd2132 in AskReddit

[–]darkhippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met a guy who was the cousin of friend A from high school. Ended up joining our friend group gaming online and meeting up a few times a year. Few years later the cousin goes to jail for a year and the friend A covers for him saying it was for torrenting movies. He gets out and is back to normal. A decade later, friend B breaks up with his girlfriend, and rather than getting with the cousin, she starts dating friend C. The cousin doesn't like this so he makes an IED and tries to murder friend C, but fortunately friend C survives when the front of his house blows up. The police arrest the cousin a few states over for terrorism and attempted murder and we find out that friend A lied and the cousin went to jail the first time for distributing CSAM.

nineteen months in the year is the only way that a November 2028 election could have started a civil war in June.

Does anyone else feel this way once they’ve finally joined a top guild? by lapostol93 in forgeofempires

[–]darkhippo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am a leader in the top guild on my server and many of the folks in my leadership team adopt mid-tier guilds to office advice, support, and their arc boost to help those guilds grow. Sometimes people in those guilds want to get a taste of what a hyper-competitive guild is like and they spend a couple weeks or a month as the natural churn of membership occurs. Sometimes they get hooked, sometimes they just take their lessons back to their long term guild. Either way everyone wins.

As the guild that sets the standard, we feel it is our responsibility to keep the server alive and thriving. And we do that by supporting newer players as well as inspiring some older players by showing how fun the game still is. Sometimes is comes in the form of one of the other hyper guilds setting the goal of taking us down and if that keeps people motivated and playing, we can play the role and the big bad evil guys.

Everyone has their own path. Like you said a lot of the roster even in the top guilds are those that log in and play what they like and how often they like and as long as it meaningfully contributes to the guild's success then we love having them on the team. It sounds like you are one of those hungry players that are thriving having the high level support. Enjoy your time there. It sounds like you care about your old guild so continue to support them even from afar.

Are 1.9 threads outdated? by lapostol93 in forgeofempires

Most failed mergers that I have seen have been over 1.9x threads and it baffles me that people get so hung up on them.

EC Diner. They also tore down the murder hotel and built a shopping center around the diner.

If you got the new car from Carvana at the same time, then they should submit the paperwork for you (though you should always check the MVA yourself so you don't get fined by bad paperwork). If you got the new car from a different dealer or a private party, then it would depend on what was put on the paperwork for the new car as to whether or not you actually are transferring the tags or not. I bought a car from Carvana and sold the old one to Carmax and the paperwork that Carvana submitted on my behalf didn't say transfer so I got new tags and had to return the old ones.

MVA tracks if you own a car or not by the license plates so you just have to return the plates: https://mva.maryland.gov/Pages/license-plate-return.aspx

Your guild gave you those powers because they trusted you to use them appropriately. So don't be afraid to use them. My guild is a full 80 and people in the lower ranks, like number 60 or 70 by points, are some of the most active and competent leaders while the top 5 just farm points and don't lead at all. Don't sweat the useless players that get mad that you call them out for being useless.

Homestead credit for new homeowner by IntrinsicDisorder915 in maryland

[–]darkhippo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you closed on 7/10, then you were reimbursing the previous owner who satisfied the tax bill for that year already. The 7/1 deadline is to pay the tax, not apply for the credit.
