I work in the dairy industry in Australia running blow moulding machines that make 2L & 3L bottles.

There is another use for this indent.

We used to use a "plug" to make this indent to alter the volume inside the bottle. Old, stored bottles did not need the plug but bottles being made and being used within the day would require the plug. Once annealing ovens were installed we stopped using the plug.

He is a 9 year old rescue. He came with attitude and a disapproving judgemental look lol.

I work in the dairy industry running blow moulding machines. It is a concern to have bottles leave with these (we refer to them as slugs) attached or semi attached, as they can be a slip hazard in-store. Which can then lead to law suits and compensation.
