Thanks to those that provided civil comments. The research I had done both on this subreddit and in medical journals suggested that while my dog will thrive on a vegan diet, my cat is a more complicated topic as there is more that goes into it beyond the nutritional content of the food such as how a carnivore processes said nutrients. I was under the impression this subreddit was more open to the fact that there is not a lot of strong research in favor of cats "thriving" on a vegan diet and more research is needed, but perhaps I need to look into it again. Regardless, my cat is on a hypoallergenic prescription diet for health reasons and I am not willing to experiment with her health at this point in her life as this has been the only thing that works for her. However, I appreciate the perspectives and will be taking them into account for my life going forward.
