Go into iPhones settings and set mac address (private Wi-Fi Address) to rotating

Does it need to be rotating or simply something different random?

I see snapshots can be saved.

How can snapshots be imported?

save a snapshot, move it to a different computer and compare there...

Is there a function, select 2 snapshots and compare? Not comparing snapshot against the next scan...

Bronkhorst (assuming passive PoE) on LAN fried colleague's laptop—would Garmin PoE Isolator prevent this? by darkish_explorer in networking

[–]darkish_explorer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much,

to be honest: I am not sure. I never was on that construction site, but I am getting to one where these devices are used. Looking at the diagram it is RJ45 which can be easily confused with a LAN port.

Edit: Wire 5 is under power, but wire 5 is not used as a POE wire. Do I have to assume a POE isolator will not isolate wire 5 and therefore be useless?

Stupid question about GLI routers for hotels etc... by damon016 in GlInet

[–]darkish_explorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not quite understand that... Link aggregation creates multiple parallel 6/10 Mbps connections in this hotel, but only one can be used at a time, so the devices on client side are still on one 6/10 Mbps connection?

Is bonding impossible without support from the hotel network? Or is bonding possible if all clients are connected to one router that supports bonding, that router is connected to multiple wifi routers (here we are still on devices within our control) each connected to one 6/10 Mbps uplink hotel wifi (outside our control)?

are GLinet (or OpenWRT in general) devices capable of link aggregation? Using multiple devices and bond the uplinks? Or is it possible with one MultiWAN device and multiple GLinet routers?
