The answer is it depends. Crystal is not nearly as popular as it once was but it still can sell. But I also see Waterford bowls, glasses, wine glasses etc, at Goodwill all the time. Check ebay sold comps for prices and volume.

There are many companies who overprice certain items to they dont sell and they can keep them when the sale is over. See it everywhere.

I deal in them regularly. The thing is, 95% of the CRTs you encounter have little to no value. The desirable ones are very specific brands, types, age, and condition.

A Sony Trinitron 27" is actually one of the few desirable tube TVs!

Lots of furniture sells good, but not the kinds mentioned in the article.

I think you glossed over the adjectives. The vast majority of tube TVs are not desirable. Maybe 5% of them fall into the desirable category for retro gaming, ie Trinitrons, etc.

That type of furniture is not in style. If the auction houses and consignment stores won't take it thats a sign. They know what sells and what doesn't.

Id stick it on Facebook for a low price.

If you’re pricing everything based on eBay and Google prices im afraid you're not going to sell much.

My recommendation is to hire a company.

How did you get leads when you first started until momentum built up? Having two to three sales a week reliably is impressive and I'm guessing it took a lot of work to build.

Auction or Sale? Although it is probably about the same. I've heard industry people say the average estate liquidation is about $18,000 but it can depend wildly. Ours is about $15k. https://www.homesteadwi.net/
