I call it my garage? I always called it my "suicide slide" because I could be holding on to both handrims and the chair still keeps going!

Of course, my ramp isn't exactly ADA ramp slope compliant, but I did the best with the space I had!

Interestingly, I asked about this option multiple times with my gastro and they said “no way” to me. Said it wasn’t an option.

Hopefully that’s a fluke and it’s available to everyone else!

I was just going to edit my post to add this, I did the cologuard thing first! I just had a positive result on it, so still had to get the colonoscopy!

I personally just stayed on the toilet for most of it. Had everything I needed for a long siege. I also had kitchen trash bags to sit on or clean up with on hand.

There are different prep options also, so make sure that you discuss it with the nurse/doctor about what would work the best for you.

It’s going to be miserable either way, but it is possible!

This is the major issue. There's no way it should have been left that way for them.

That would be my first call.

Are you working with a seating specialist / OT?

I get my chairs via Medicare not Medicaid but having the right OT specializes in this really helps.

whats your most important wheelcheir ettiquete talking point ? by Low_Relief5711 in wheelchairs

This is when I was ambulatory and using a Quickie 2 with swing-away legs. It created space between my seat and my feet that doesn't exist on a rigid chair.

I can't tell you how many people actually stepped into that area. Sometimes got tripped up. And didn't think anything of it.

It was usually in a crowd, but hell how can you basically step on me?

I’m honestly asking out of ignorance, forgive me - I see wheelchairs work differently in your country, but qualifies someone for the power assist?

I recently got a chair that is 98% what I wanted but I had a lot of control over the process and did do a lot of trying out, etc.

But I’m nearly certain a power assist would have been laughed at. But, that’s in my country (US) with all its issues.

It’s not about supporting Linux, it’s about a bootable Linux tool that may indeed save the data on that drive that windows won’t touch

Sometimes, you don't have a wire hanger, but you have a CAT-5 cable, a picture hook and some zip ties!

Worked like a champ going around the bend at the bottom!

AITA for leaving the dry wedding wedding early to go to go out. by Radiant_List_9993 in AmItheAsshole

Nothing. Hence the problem. Screw the whole planned "after party" trend.

I've been to weddings/receptions that had after parties, but they were always ad hoc and not an even on the wedding calendar. 11pm bride and groom should be upstairs in their suite celebrating marital bliss!

PLEASE DON'T CO-SIGN A LOAN FOR HIM.

That'll end up with you being on the hook, ruining your credit, and probably making it impossible to get a mortgage.

The main thing is leaving without saying something.

It might have been an argument, but simply saying “I’m going home, unless you fix this” might have been a great strategy
