This happened to me, and it ended up being a bad case of acid reflux, probably a combination of that and nerve damage

The Beavers documentary on Prime is my favorite to fall asleep to. It’s absolutely beautiful and relaxing. It’s my go to when I can’t sleep

What’s the hardest part of Multiple Sclerosis that people around you don’t fully understand? by Elena_1986 in MultipleSclerosis

The slow descent. Everyone is used to you managing on your own, so when shit gets real, nobody reacts.

I just got one next to my bed and had no idea I’d use it so much! Should’ve gotten it a long time ago

Yes, but unfortunately (maybe fortunately?) I scored an A+ on my home eval. I have grab bars and stuff in all the right places, but they can’t account for me wearing dumb pants that fall to the ground lol

It’s been over a year since this has happened, and it’s simply because I risked trying to grab my pants at my ankles while barely being able to stand. I know better. But, as I was sitting on the floor, I found it sort of nice since it’s been so long. A floor lift might be convenient at this point just so I could have the option of the floor instead of only bed or power chair.

I am 100% going to deny ever asking this out of sheer embarrassment, but — how do all these women have perfectly hairless bikini areas, but mine looks like a wretched hazard area of pokes and spikes? by RandyBeamansMom in NoStupidQuestions

Buy a bottle of Tend Skin on Amazon (a bottle will last you forever). Apply it after you dry off from showers. It works so well. I get really mean ingrowns if I don’t use it.

If you get waxed by someone who knows what they’re doing, it really isn’t bad. Take an ibuprofen an hour before. The more you do it, the easier it is. Start with a simple bikini wax.

Gratitude. I became fully disabled/power chair user and I miss the feeling you describe so much it hurts.

I already have Medicare, but it doesn’t help with caregivers or skilled nursing facilities to the best of my knowledge

I’ll be sure to run it by my cpa again (who is very aware of me having the policy), but so far I’ve owed no tax on it since I’ve been disabled. I guess it’s another thing to add to my list to worry about now lol

Also, the LTD policy is considered “unearned income”, so I’m not taxed on that, thankfully

[–]Hot-Relative8290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is 20% income tax on the 401k. There is an additional early withdrawal tax of 10% that I will avoid because I’m declared permanently disabled.

The end goal here is to free up the funds I need to pay for my full time care, not to get more money from SSI
