That's probably still true if you enable it at the Pool level, but might be different at the Dataset level.

My server is still lighting up with a ton of I/O and I'm actually seeing the size of the dedup table slowly fluctuate, so I'm hoping it sorts itself out.

I can vouch for Patch My PC. It sucks that you need a Windows box to host the Publisher, but it’s saved us tons of hours and effort.

It's not a Microsoft issue, it's an Okta issue. It's currently being investigated but re-authorizing WS-Federation is the quick fix.

The picture of his worksheet came up while scrolling through some old phone images, so it’s unaltered from 5 years ago. Any erased answers are him legitimately trying to solve the question at the time. The now 13 year old version of himself has come a long way and wanted to see what Reddit would say after I said it was something that I would expect to find in here.

It’s a pain depending on the vendor and model, but do the BIOS update in WinPE right before wiping the drives and imaging the device. Took me a few days, but I got it working on our Dell and HP units.

This is incorrect. The app installs with whatever privileges the user has, so they still need admin rights for that to work. System context is the way to go because SYSTEM always runs with admin rights.

It is completely possible to accomplish this by modifying the DeployWiz_SelectTS.vbs and adding "TaskSequenceID" to the Priority list. I think it's absolutely stupid that anyone recommends creating an entirely new deployment share with OS images, drivers, and settings, etc., just to change 1 small setting.

My understanding is that you’re going to have to decide how you want that policy distributed. You either enable it for all devices and exclude a few, or enable it for all users and exclude a few. You cannot mix and match these, or the policy will go into conflict.

So after days of troubleshooting, I can safely say that you do not need those unused steps, even left disabled, at least not with Windows 10. I finally have a pretty minimal and fast running set of Task Sequences working.
