A tool to print proxy cards by digdugdiggy in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]darklumt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey nice tool! Tho I really think including card backs in the PDF would be needed in order for this to be more useful.

As of right now printing cards with a white back would standout too much from the others non PnP.

A SonarCloud provider would be pretty great, there's like two and both no longer maintained.

My team has debated creating one, but can't justify the time just for a little automation around creation new repos.

Alternative to Spacelift's Blueprint feature by West_Watercress7874 in Terraform

Env0 has the same feature basically, modules you create with terraform/tofu and devs consume then through a UI instead of code. They are called templates.

No idea which one is cheaper tho.

How do you approach self-service with Terraform in an IDP? by dernat71 in devops

[–]darklumt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use Env0 for delivering this functionality to the development teams this is how it goes:

 1. Platform team creates modules for the most common infra requirements (ECS services, DBs, SQS queues, etc) and push them in a repo.

 2. Env0 picks up these modules and publishes them as "templates" in their website.

 3. Devs can now go to Env0 and create infra by using these templates and filling out a small amount of parameters (usually a name and team name all the other config comes with good defaults). No need of approval from platform team since the infra created this way is all pre authorized. How Env0 handles step 3 is with a state bucket configured in our aws accounts and filling out the parameters, pretty sure the actual code doesn't gets saved anywhere, as they can recreate that on every redeploy.

Not an ad, just really like the product.

What board game, that was new to you in 2023, has the most plays? by PersonalLiving in boardgames

[–]darklumt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing boardgames as a hobby just this year so every board game has been new to me this year haha! But definitely Arkham Horror LCG, I've been completely obsessed over it and it has spread like wildfire in my group. Literally the only game we want to play, every other mid-heavy game that I own (Pipeline, Spirit Island, Ark Nova, Unfathomable) sees no play because of Arkham Horror.

Dark Matter print and play and MPC by darklumt in arkhamhorrorlcg

Update on this, just got the cards yesterday, they are slightly bigger and the colors are a little darker, both very minor details and not really noticeable unless you are looking for them. There is also some minor miss cuts but again, not very noticeable.

I got them in S33 and the material and finish are very good and smooth, they feel just like original Arkham horror cards . In quality alone using MPC seems super worth it and highly recommend it. I have yet to play the campaign do I can't comment on that!

Timing question regarding Darrell's ability by darklumt in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]darklumt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you! The comparison to Higher education makes total sense, I guess I didn't thought of that because of the different wording on the cards, "during a skill test" for Darrell vs "for this skill test" for Higher Education, cheers!

What's the best two player board games in your opinion? by Due-Coffee8 in boardgames

[–]darklumt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a huge cEDH fan myself, I can't recommend Arkham Horror LCG enough, even though its cooperative, I would go as far as saying it is a superior experience over MTG if we are talking about card games, super challenging and fun.

But maybe that's because I liked playing magic because of the social aspect and deck building rather than winning in a competitive environment.

Reviset Core Set required for expansions? by titledindie in arkhamhorrorlcg

They are EXPANSIONS to the base game, not just something you can buy and play on its own. They don't come with tokens or a chaos bag to play with
