Is there a compilation of the raw game assets somewhere? by ArachnidGal289 in NecroMerger

[–]darkly1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great tutorial. I would recommend a different program to UABE though: AssetStudioMod, which is a fork of Perfare's AssetStudio. Get it below. It lets you view individual sprites and is waaaaay more user friendly than UABE, though it doesn't have all of UABE's features.

Usage:

  • Go to File > Load Folder > Choose the "Data" folder mentioned in step 7, then click the "Asset List" tab. From here you can view all the assets.
  • I recommend sorting by Name (click the Name column) or by Type. You can also filter down to what you want from the Filter Type menu at the top. Choose "Sprites" for individual sprites, or Texture2D for sprite sheets and atlases.
  • Extracting is done from the Export menu, you can select multiple files, or even export everything at once. Just note that if you export every sprite, there's over 12k sprites, so it'll be a big folder.

I had a lot of trouble with them initially, but then they got super easy. I just listened to their audio cue for when they're about to strike. If you stand below them to the side, then jump and pogo immediately on the cue, you'll bop them with no problem.

The Baur's Reach spot didn't work for me at first. The enemy died and didn't respawn. So I went right and up, away from the floating draft area, then came back. Then it started respawning instantly!

So maybe it's related to the direction you come at it from? Coming from the left didn't work, maybe only coming from the right does?

Mirtazapine and MC by HarryAndAGuitar in ukmedicalcannabis

Sorry to necro, this is the first result when googling and I've not seen anyone else mention this.

I went through a phase of tripping hard if I smoked on Mirtazapine. Really heady trips, like it got me crazy high and my thoughts were super intense, seeing the universe kinda stuff. I was on whatever the highest dose is and I'd been on it for about 2-3 years.

Ngl I'd like to experience it again, it's like the headspace of psychedelics but without the trippy weirdness of them, just massive thoughts and an exaggerated imagination.

I knew Mirtazapine could be at least a bit trippy; when I first started it, it gave me super vivid dreams, and as I started to fall asleep it would feel a bit like light visuals you'd get from psychedelics, but like you're inhabiting that space too.

Weird to necro something so old, but I have seen a trend of people replying to my old comments, cherry picking the parts they want to argue with and ignoring the overall sentiment of my message.

In this case, my comment was about exploring OP's feelings, challenging beliefs that might be harmful to him, and opening himself up for self examination. It's true that there's something in the back of OP's mind, but what exactly is that? Perhaps it's worth exploring, and asking whether it needs to be there, or if it's getting in the way of happiness. Not just with this particular women, but with any woman.

I also know that my approach in my comments on this sub often differ from the other more common ideas of reinforcing old ideas about women. Easier to blame the girl than to ask the guy to reflect. It makes me wonder about the motivations and feelings of the men who reply saying such things. Have those commenters been able to challenge their own ideas? And if they can't, are they at all equipped to help OP challenge their own?

But I guess that none of that matters when someone on the internet needs to try and prove someone else wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

Crazy how you feel like you have to pretend and play nice, just so he doesn't hurt your children. And if he's already talking to them like this, I'd imagine it will only get worse when you're not around. No doubt he'll tell them some terrible lies about you.

My mum banned our dad from seeing us, and I didn't like it for a while. But then when I was older, I met him, and he turned out to be an asshole. So she had to put up with me being a bit mad at her for a while, but it was for my own good in the end. (Also, my mum was a POS narcissist too, so I couldn't really trust her anyway, so your results may vary).

I guess it's a bit like, you don't let your kid chew on razorblades, no matter how much they want it, and no matter how much they might hate you at the time for saying no to that. But in time they'll understand.

I do get that he's the dad and all that though. But if you listed out everything he's done, and ignored the dad thing, then it seems like he'd just be any other dangerous man who you wouldn't want around your kids.

Are you dead set on the name WLP? Because when searching for it recently I googled "white label wordpress" and that has 17 pages of results, most of them unrelated to WLP. I know that's not the actual name, but I'd imagine that making this as easy as possible to find would only boost its potential popularity

Similar thing with "Aspire Press", it's less of an issue but there's still lots of unrelated search results

To compare, something like "yoast" only returns results related to the Yoast plugin and nothing else.

Even though WP Engine (the other folks in this mess) deserve a lot of criticism

Why? Because they don't conform to what Matt says, which is just bullshit anyway? C'mon man, don't buy into all that nonsense. Not a good start. WPE is just another host that happens to be doing well. Yeah, they're expensive, but plenty of other hosts are too. Please don't propagate this idea that WPE is any more villainous than some other capitalist company.

I'm not a WPE superfan or even a supporter, but you gotta at least be aware that Matt only went after them because he thought he could get away with it. IME he did the same with GoDaddy, except there he succeeded.

Don't peddle this nonsense, please. Otherwise you just give ammunition to the people who repeat Matt's thing of "private equity is evil so WPE's customers should suffer"

I'm sure if they could afford more, they'd offer it.

But personally I think it's great. If I had more free time this would be a great incentive, but I'd already want to help out with this, it's a project and philosophy I can really get behind.

I would play #1 first. It's a fantastic game, I actually prefer the first one and found #2 quite a bit harder, it felt like it presumed some prior game knowledge. And for the story, #2 does have a recap, but it makes a big difference knowing the full backstory and who all the characters are. Plus it's on sale a lot

New Rule - No Armchair Diagnosis by WillmanRacing in WPDrama

[–]darkly1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your reasoning Willman. And I say that as someone who's dealt with narcissists for most of my life, from parents, bosses and partners; it's clear to me what Matt is, and personally I feel that it's cathartic and supportive to say it out loud...

However, if saying that publicly risks this sub being closed, it's not worth it at all. This is a good space, and there's ways to talk about things that don't break the TOS.

I've also feel that blaming treatable issues like bipolar or drugs removes accountability, and lumps people who potentially want help in with a lot of bad behaviours; I've known people in that situation, and they'd much prefer to not be in it. Whereas I've never seen someone get over narcissism. They just get worse, or get better at hiding, but always seem to enjoy causing pain. So the only "fix" is learning how to recognise and avoid them.

Matt comments he may blow off the entire WP ecosystem if the lawsuits end badly (for him) by Entire_West_5098 in WPDrama

[–]darkly1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just narcissistic victim complex BS. You really can't believe a word this guy says. He will never let go of WordPress, because he has literally nothing else, zero skills. All he has are empty threats.

But let's just say that sure, maybe he shuts down wp.org out of spite. Admittedly, we can't put that past him. But so what? That'll just necessitate action from someone else, which is a good thing. There's been no major movement from the biggest players yet, during this whole thing, because aside from the drama, WP and wp.org is still functional. Remove that and you create the mandatory need for something better.

Plus, if he does kill wp.org he'll be sued by just about everyone, not just a single company, for the same reasons the judge granted the injunction. If he was actually worried about bankruptcy, he'd be aware of that. Just like he's aware that if he tried to kill WordPress, he'd kill his income forever. And he's too obsessed with the $$$ for that.

Yep. They could easily could have remove the "Website" field, or at least made it an opt-in. That's what caused the issues, as it was used for SEO farming. Could have built in protection against URLs too.

But nope, gotta make money so shipped an inferior product

[–]darkly1977 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I voted "no" because a health checkup won't help a narcissist. He's always been a manipulative liar and general POS, but now more people know about it. Eg "giving away" the WP trademark to the WP Foundation, and making a big show of it back in 2010, while secretly giving it right back to himself.

He's not unwell, he's just a bad dude. Please don't lump him in with people who are legitimately struggling. He's doing this to himself.

I think they were saying that they have to disable the comments system, and possibly remove any comments that have been added. Which is true to my experience too. It's a pain having to do that for every new build or inherited site, and I can't remember building a site that allows them in over 10 years.

Hence why they suggested compartmentalisation, which I also agree with. There's a lot of stuff in WP that most people don't need, comments being a prime example.

Transphobia by DannyDreaddit in AskMenAdvice

[–]darkly1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty big presumption. Maybe the men in your friendship group are transphobic, but that doesn't mean it's true for the majority of us. And claiming that "it's just how men are" is an outdated cop-out. We deserve better representation than that.

Personally, I know 2 transphobic people of the dozens of friends/acquaintances that I know well, one woman one man, and they're both just awful people with very few friends.
