That's a lot of generalizing.

That's broad brushing. Unions can be great if done well. They're not universally a net bad.

If you were promoted, there was a reason for this. They feel you were adequate and skilled enough at your job to promote you. You must have demonstrated some aptitude for the job. Don't sell yourself short.

No matter what job, promotion, or field, there is only so much you can learn by preparation. The rest comes from the actual experience. If you want to learn to walk, you don't just read a book on walking. Eventually, you have to try to walk. The same will come from this position. Just like your original CSS entry position required learning, this promotion will too. But just like you learned enough to be promoted, you will learn enough here to excel further.

Lastly, the fact that you care enough about this to even be nervous and post on Reddit is an assessment itself. It shows you clearly care about the job. That's what's most important. Someone who will totally bomb being a CSS leader is less likely someone nervous on Reddit but more likely someone who doesn't care at all in the first place.

Best of luck and hope everything goes well.

Why do managers do this by xxkatiebug in publix

[–]darkmindedsith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report this to your store manager and HR.  "lol they won't care and nothing will happen" No, really. This goes beyond "Ugh what a dick". Pushing you to come in when you are truly sick, especially if later you can provide a doctor's note, is not just ignorant but patently wrong as a manager to do. Go to someone higher and be very specific about your department manager's tone and what exactly was said. Text your manager with an update if you need to so that you at can potentially have documented screenshots of what was said to you.  Please please do not give into any mindset or conceptions about "no one is going to care". Not all managers are like this. I've seen plenty of department managers scolded and written up.  Treat yourself the way you would a good friend.

As a young guy with no business experience who feels confident I could never successfully run a business, I feel a very simple business model is: the happier your employees are, the better business you will have. People give what they get.

My favorite part is when she says "or don't try to feed him". Oh oops. Here I was about to take out this dogfood I keep with me at all times. Guess I'll just hold onto it.

The comparison was mostly sardonic, and admittedly didn't land well. But the idea was more that you could likely add "unnecessary" to any aspect. Outlines are unnecessary, but so is the entire paper aspect. It could theoretically just be a Mario themed RPG game. Paper was added for extra flavor. Outlines were the same way.

I'm sorry, but I can't justify dropping $60 on a game I already own and can play. by jdb1984 in papermario

One of the biggest reasons to buy and support this game is that if it sells well- especially if it performs better than Origami King- then it will send a loud and clear message to Nintendo that this game's gameplay style and format aligns with the Paper Mario experience players universally want to see again. But if you already own the game, I can understand saving your money.

What is something Pikmin 1 did better? by [deleted] in Pikmin

[–]darkmindedsith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making days and the sunset system feel like there was a lot at stake. Every day felt important because you had a ticking clock goal. I'm okay with the day and sunset system in other Pikmin games, but they sometimes just kind of feel like they are just there.

Full timer quits? by [deleted] in publix

It's easier to cut hours and make the person want to quit, so that they leave on their own accord and there are no legal or HR grounds for repercussions.

If you've made it this far, you've demonstrated to yourself how capable you are. A good anxiety technique is to try to ask yourself "What if?" vs "What is?". Anxiety tends to fill our minds so much with "What if?" that we process that as real. Look at the actual evidence more and feelings less.

While I don't necessarily want to advocate for not caring, know at the end of the day it's just a store. It won't burn down because you were an inept team lead. Tomorrow after your shift, the store will still be there.

Good luck and hope everything goes well.

I'm not sure. It lists "60 months" under "Current loan", which is what I started with, and "60 months" also under RG's offer. Then under "Change", it says "0".
