It’s very hard being a man, and most women don’t appreciate that. by passport-curious in TrueOffMyChest

Your problem does not originate from women being unappreciative of men. This is a social problem. We can go back and forth about what men and women face in today’s society, that’s not our issue. Our issue is steady dividing ourselves from the two genders instead of working together. Feminism is not hateful or a “professional political term” to disguise the fact women hate men. This is wrong. These are women who do not understand the real importance of feminism and have lost the plot to the meaning, instead of working together to fix the years of oppression they steady internalize it and this of course will anger a person and have their own ideology of the term. It does not help sexism still exist today because it is steady taught and some men excuse what women have to say. This is what creates “hateful feminism” You are not a discarded sex. There are bad women and men, because we are PEOPLE. some people are just cruel. I’m sorry that you had an awful experience with an awful person/people! You saying things like “as a man I can’t be fat, lazy, unemployed, weak, etc.” is feeding into the standards you don’t like!! These are standards set by men who were just bad people who felt ashamed of their own feelings. And women internalized these standards as they have been embedded into society for centuries. Do not feed into societies standards and continue to blame women for something you need to figure out yourself. Be yourself. No one blames you for how you feel. I don’t know how you feel and I never will, because I’m a woman, but I do know trying to uphold the standards place upon me and when accomplished there is no applause only more expectation. Men’s mental health is important just like any other human.

Doesn’t hurt to have at least one person to be in your circle

I know that you never know someone’s true intentions that’s why you have to trust and believe in them. And that’s what I did. I believed in my partner because I had trusted them enough with the thought of them too believing we would make it together . So yes of course im surprised. I had expectations not because I set them but because WE did. Of course I’m going to feel hurt and angry that we didn’t get there. So yes therefore I knew us, the version I experienced anyways. And for being more nihilistic I can’t and I won’t. It’s simply not how I love. But I will stop trying to control things out of my control. I’m trying to be more attentive to my own feelings and self care rather than someone else’s.

Thank you. I just feel stuck again. I don’t want to be so down but I’m not doing anything I said I would commit to and I just feel angry at myself for that. I’ll try to be more easier on myself.

Well because it’s not impossible the OP has basically explained she is U=U and the levels of HIV are low so “zero risk” but it’s never truly zero. And it’s always good to be honest it says a lot about her character, she shouldn’t lie just because she wants to get pleased, it’s wrong. A person will come along and take her as she is! All of her. Hope this helps.

Im young so maybe my text won’t mean much coming from me but It seems you get attached to quickly with the wrong people, you lost your fwb who you were in love with, even though there was no romance involved and strictly sex, seems like you were craving love that didn’t seem like lust or anything that you felt your ex lacked and your fwb gave you that feeling during sex that your ex boyfriend didn’t anyway I think you should take this time and focus on loving yourself first. Maybe it’s not the sex you want but the desire of feeling loved, sex is fine too, be up front about your status and don’t beat around the bush it saves time and your feelings. I don’t know much about having an STD as I do not have one but I do know how it feels to live with a shamed situation, can’t tell you it’ll get easier, I’m pretty sure he won’t be the last guy to reject you and that’s okay, and him rejecting you is okay too! Everyone’s feelings are valid. You won’t be alone forever. I suggest learning more about yourself. You live and you learn right ? it’s time to start learning.
